Bigelow Hollow State Park is publicly owned recreation area in the town of Union, Connecticut, in the Quinebaug Highlands. The state park covers 516 acres, bordered by Nipmuck State Forest to its east and west and by Mashapaug Lake to the north.

Hiking Shenipsit Trail, Shenipsit State Forest, Connecticut
Hiking the Shenipsit Trail in -- what else? -- Shenipsit State Forest, in Connecticut. I started at Sodom Road on CT-190, in Tolland County between Somers and Stafford Springs, south to CT-140, climbing all 300 ft. of Soapstone Mountain along the way. It was very green, but the #flowerporn was unfortunately Rated G. The next day, it was off to Stafford Motor Speedway for an Endurance Karting race!

The Nipmuck Trail is a Blue-Blazed hiking trail system which meanders through 34.5 miles of forests in northeast Connecticut. It is maintained by the Connecticut Forest and Park Association and is considered one of the Blue-Blazed hiking trails.
