Mar Vista Stables - Horsebacking riding on the beach
Girls day out. Horsebacking riding on the beach in Daly City California. The horses were great, the scenery was beautiful and the ride along the beach was very relaxing. A great place to rent a horse, one of the last places in California to ride. Most horse rentals have closed down in recent years due to rising insurance costs.

TFC: Home in Daly City
After 23 years, ABS-CBN International’s The Filipino Channel – more popularly (and fondly) referred to as TFC -- is now home in Daly City. Chief Operating Officer Raffy Lopez states “We’ve always wanted to be where the Filipinos are… here in the heart of Daly City – it’s right beside the BART station – we feel this is the perfect location because we want to engage and interact with the (local) community.”
This video is a tribute to the city that has seen and welcomed the passing of many generations of Filipino Americans – their warmth, their hospitality, their faith, their stories that continue to break through the fog and resonate warmly to this day.
CREDITS
TFC: Home in Daly City was created by through the collaboration of TFC’s PR & Corporate Affairs and MPEG Departments (under Nerissa Fernandez and John-D Lazatin, respectively). The spoken word poetry, that captured the vibe of Daly City and the ever-evolving community, was written by Pia Lopezbanos-Carrion, with Jeremiah Ysip. Ysip filmed and directed the piece, masterfully capturing the sights and sounds of Daly City. Mitos Briones is the master editor who skillfully stitched the piece together.
Providing an impactful, and at times, poignant reading of the ode to Daly City is Power Struggle’s front man – community activist and hip hop artist -- Nomi. The rawness of his rhythm and his street cred within the Filipino American community lends depth and relevance to the words and pictures combined. Special cameo appearance from scratch legend – DJ Qbert of Thud Rumble adds to the flavor.
Other members of the Creative and Production teams are: Mike Carrion; Ana Torrea; Jerico De Guzman; Jonas De Leon; Nikki Lecitona, Eric Pugeda, and Mouse Munoz.
Extra support was provided by Budith Palmero, Gigi Picazo, Carol Patawaran (HR); and Trude Guzman, Elbertt Celemen, Edgar Carbonell (Finance).
Thank you to Mayor Glenn Sylvester, Vice Mayor Juslyn Manalo, Councilmember Ray Buenaventura, and the men and women of Daly City City Hall; Jefferson Union High School District Superintendent Dan Burns; Westmoor High School Principal Tom Orput and the staff and students of WHS; Jefferson High School Principal Mark Beshirs and the staff and students of JHS; Marie Villarosa of Serramonte Mall; Fine Line Barbershop; FTCC; Fil-Am Cuisine; and to all the families and different generations that comprise the robust, colorful and dynamic community of our Daly City.
This is for all of you.
