Marina Bay, sometimes referred to as the Richmond Riviera, is located in Richmond's protected Inner Harbor. It was developed in the mid-1980s in an effort to clean up what had been up to that point the defunct World War II-era Kaiser Shipyards. Marina Bay was planned as an up-scale residential waterfront community with apartments, condominiums, townhouses, and houses. The area is also home to many retail and light-industry businesses. The city considers it one of its success stories and uses it as an template for other projects.

A tree fell onto one of our tents, a large oak tree. The tree fell onto the tent and killed one of our guests inside. She was with her granddaughter. The granddaughter, fortunately, was completely unhurt. But the grandmother died instantly. This is what the sheriff's department told us.

Cold blasts of wind has hit California in the trail of a storm that dumped more rain and snow on the soggy state.
However, there were no early reports of damage in areas at risk of mudslides.
Authorities in California were keeping a wary eye on Highland in San Bernardino County, where about 50 homes remained evacuated after last week's deluge caused mud to slide from local mountains, overwhelming a drain channel and inundating some homes with feet-deep ooze.
More than 100-thousand sandbags had been used to build walls to keep more muck out of the community.
I don't even know where to go from here. It's just one thing after another right now, said Louie Berrera, Jr., whose home was damaged.
The rain and heavy wind that swept through Northern California on Tuesday were blamed for the death of a woman camping with her 7-year-old granddaughter at a wildlife preserve in Sonoma County, north of San Francisco.
A 100-foot oak tree came down on Gayle Falgoust's tent at the Safari West Wildlife Preserve near Santa Rosa on Tuesday, authorities and preserve officials said.
The granddaughter, who was also in the tent at the time, was not hurt.
The girl's father and his son were in a neighbouring tent when they heard the tree come down and screams, sheriff's Captain Matt McCaffrey told KGO-TV.
They used scissors to cut through the canvas and pull the 7-year-old out.
On the US east coast, big cot encampments and huge lines gave way to orderly, single-file queues and thawing tensions as flights left New York-area airports on time.

Russian Hill is a quaint, upscale residential community known for the famously crooked Lombard Street, a major tourist destination. The iconic San Francisco cable cars crest the neighborhood’s hills, which provide views of a number of city landmarks including the Golden Gate and Bay bridges. Commercial stretches along Polk and Hyde Streets offer an assortment of trendy and old-school restaurants, bars and shops.
Russian Hill is a neighborhood of San Francisco, California, in the United States. It is named after one of San Francisco's 44 hills, and one of its original Seven Hills. Russian Hill is directly to the north (and slightly downhill) from Nob Hill, to the south (uphill) from Fisherman's Wharf, and to the west of the North Beach neighborhood. The Hill is bordered on its west side by parts of the neighborhoods of Cow Hollow and the Marina District.
At the northern foot of the hill is Ghirardelli Square, which sits on the waterfront of the San Francisco Bay, Aquatic Park, and Fisherman's Wharf, an extremely popular tourist area. A trip down the winding turns of Lombard Street and across Columbus Avenue to the east leads to the neighborhood of North Beach. Down the hill to the west, past Van Ness Avenue, are Cow Hollow and the Marina districts.
The neighborhood's name goes back to the Gold Rush era, when settlers discovered a small Russian cemetery at the top of the hill. Russian naval and merchant ships frequently visited San Francisco throughout the 19th century beginning in 1806, and there are several mentions of burials of crew members in the Russian Hill cemetery in the first half of the century. The cemetery was eventually removed, but the name remains to this day. Although Holy Trinity Cathedral, the oldest Russian Orthodox church in San Francisco, is located a few blocks away on Van Ness and Green Street, there is no significant Russian presence in the area, as the city's Russian community is located primarily in the Richmond District.
Views from the top of the hill extend in several directions around the Bay Area, including the Bay Bridge, Marin County, the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Russian Hill is home to the San Francisco Art Institute, located on Chestnut Street between Jones and Leavenworth Streets. Academy of Art University also maintains a presence in this neighborhood with their Chestnut St. building hosting their fine art MFA studios, photo classrooms, and photo studios.

The Holy Grail of hiking and cycling on the San Francisco Peninsula is the Pilarcitos Loop Trail in the heart of open space owned the City of San Francisco in San Mateo County. I would like to express my support for improved public access to the San Francisco Public Utility Commission's Peninsula Watershed. This issue is very important to me and my family. The public has been closed off from the Watershed’s scenic, historical and recreational experiences for too long. Please do what you can to help achieve access reform.
I support the resolution (SFBOS file # 160183) to allow responsible access to the SFPUC watershed lands over existing service road such as Fifield-Cahill Ridge, Pilarcitos Road, Whiting Ridge, Old Cañada, and to historical sites for the following reasons:
-Access to the watershed’s existing dirt roads would allow hikers, cyclists and equestrians to visit the area’s largest and most scenic unused, publicly held open space, integrating National, State and County parklands across the San Francisco Peninsula.
-At this time there are no significant, scientific concerns over water security, fire safety or environmental stewardship. Prior to opening a complete environmental investigation will surface any environmental issues that need to be addressed.
-The “trails, dirt roads actually, are currently used by SFPUC trucks on a daily basis. They could easily be designated as a trail system, much as is done in the Marin County and Santa Clara County Watersheds.
Please also retire the mandatory docent system. There are times when we will need to enjoy these lands with out being forced into a large group. This approach works well in other watershed lands across the state, there's no reason it shouldn't work on the Peninsula.
For San Franciscans: Please ask for support of Resolution 160183 and for SFPUC to work cooperatively with San Mateo County to improve access to the watershed.
For San Mateo County residents: Please ask for support of expanded access and see to it that our County works cooperatively with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, The San Francisco Planning department and the GGNRA to achieve access reform.

A Pennsylvania family was horrified to discover a hidden camera recording them in their hotel room, but are they the only ones being watched? The Wallace family said they found a concealed recording device in their room at a Virginia Beach hotel over Memorial Day weekend. Angela Wallace, her husband and 11-year-old daughter found the camera pointed at the shower during their stay at The Knights Inn and Suites. The Inside Edition investigative team went to the hotel and approached the manager.

San Francisco (SF; ; Spanish for 'Saint Francis'; Spanish: [ˈsãɱ fɾãnˈsisko]), officially the City and County of San Francisco, is the cultural, commercial, and financial center of Northern California. San Francisco is the 13th most populous city in the United States, and the 4th most populous in California, with 884,363 residents as of 2017. It covers an area of about 46.89 square miles (121.4 km2), mostly at the north end of the San Francisco Peninsula in the San Francisco Bay Area, making it the second most densely populated large US city, and the fifth most densely populated U.S. county, behind only four of the five New York City boroughs. The Sunnyside neighborhood hugs Highway 280 on its southern border, and is tucked cozily between six other unique San Francisco neighborhoods, each lending to its popularity and diverse offerings.
The homes in Sunnyside were primarily built between the early 1900s through 1941, with a small amount of development in the 1960s. The neighborhood is heavy with homeowners living in mostly single-family abodes, ranging from Victorian to stucco homes in both detached and row house styles. There is also a spread of duplexes and multi-family properties, popular with investors and renters.

While on vacation in San Francisco my family and I visited this national historical park. It was unfortunate that not all the ships were open to board but it was a enjoyable experience nonetheless.
