The marina is North America's largest man-made small-craft harbor and is home to approximately 5,000 boats. The area is a popular tourism destination for water activities such as paddle board and kayak rentals, dining cruises, and yacht charters. Asahi is a development of the Perini performance cruisers with hull lines by Ron Holland and built in aluminium to keep down displacement and wetted surface.
She features an interior by Remi Tessier.
His use of natural woods and space is second to none and Asahi is recognized as one of his most beloved interiors of all.
The sail plan with fully battened main and mizzens and in-boom furling and reefing creates a much closer winded yacht, with a greater sail area and better speed.
From her spacious flybridge living areas and her semi sunk cockpit, Asahi offers a variety of great outdoor living areas complimented by spacious paneled air conditioned interior areas.
Service areas and crew flow well throughout Asahi making for the most efficient use of space on board.
With her sixth cabin Asahi has one more cabin than some of her Perini sisterships making for more accommodations and a very attractive charter vessel.
With her crew cabin aft she also has the potential of more comprehensive service and maintenance, as there are five (5) crew cabins.
Asahi is an extremely quiet yacht engineered with all of her soles and non-structural bulkheads floating with an emphasis on reduction of all vibration and structural born noise.
Asahi underwent her 5 year ABS survey in 2014.
At that time the boat was painted from stem to stern, top to bottom including the masts, superstructure and bilges.
With both rigs undergoing full disassembly and NDT testing, all stainless rod components were re-headed and Kevlar components replaced before professional re-assembly.
All deck hardware was also stripped and serviced ensuring the rigs and sail system are in excellent working order.
Three new generators were installed; a new suit of Doyle Stratis sails ordered.
