Cameron Cave - Missouri Caves Project
Cameron Cave was discovered in 1925 by the owner of Mark Twain Cave, Arch Cameron. This cave remains the same as it was when it was discovered with the exception of only a few safety regulations to make the cave safe for tourism. The cave is only shown in the summer or with special reservations. Open Memorial Day - Labor Day

MARK TWAIN CAVE Missouri - The National Natural Landmark
Located near Hannibal Missouri USA, across the hill from the Cameron Cave. It is the oldest show cave in the state. Jesse's James hideout and Mark Twain's inspiration. The cave walls are like a timeline of records and stories. It is another maze cave where you would not like to get lost without an experienced guide. The Cameron Cave is located on the same property. Mark Twain Cave One
I shot this video of a tour of Mark Twain Cave a week ago in Hannibal Missouri and I am just now getting time to post it.
I apologize for posting so many videos in one day but I wanted to get these up finally.
This series of three videos captures much of the tour however it was very difficult to show everything on video and since it is dark in a cave and I did not use additional light sources you will not see everything the tour guide described.
I hope you get enough of an idea of what the cave is like despite the problems shooting in the cave and I hope you enjoy it even though it is not perfect documentary quality.

The first stop on our first real camping trip (other than a quick shakedown camp near home) in our 2017 Riverside Retro 177SE. We stayed at the Mark Twain Cave Campground in Hannibal Missouri. This video marks our first entry in our post-retirement travel log. I am hardly a pro at filming or editing, so bear with me as I learn!

KCPT's Randy Mason takes US 36 to Chillicothe, Missouri, where in the summer of 1928, sliced bread was made available for the first time, anywhere. Otto Rohwedder invented that slicer, Frank Bench put it to work in his bakery, and from then on, the sandwich was never the same!
It all might sound silly, but there's a serious side at work here as well. At a time when rural communities are struggling to survive, finding a hook (even an offbeat one) can lure visitors (and their dollars) to town. And Chillicothe's been working diligently at it for the last decade —with murals, merchandise, and bread baking contests —ever since a local reporter first stumbled across the long-forgotten fact!
