Road Trip: New Zealand South Island | Episode 2
In Episode 2 we share more New Zealand Road Trip adventures.
This time the spotlight is on the stretch between Picton to Kaikoura. This will be the first leg of a NZ South Island road trip for many. In our case we made a little diversion across toward Havelock so that we could check out Marlborough Sounds and visit a few vineyards on the way to Kaikoura.
Our first night was spent at the delightful Smith's Family Farm which is on Queen Charlotte Drive. If you ever need a place to stay we recommend it wholeheartedly. They even have a private waterfall!
From here we cruised the to Blenheim, stopping at the Fromm Wineries cellar door for some wine tasting. Hint: It was amazing! The bottle of Pinot Noir we bought was a Christmas treat a few days later.
Kaikoura became our home for around 10 days and was exceedingly hard to leave. It's the kind of place that puts a stop to road trips because it has it all. A backdrop of snowy mountains, glacial blue water, abundant marine life, waves and chilled out vibes.
We spent our days surfing, including at the mythical Kahutara break, which is down at the south end of Peketa Beach. We liked the place so much that we camped at Peketa Beach Holiday Park the whole time.

Lake Matheson - New Zealand 2019
Hey everyone!
Welcome at our youtube channel called Travelando!
In this video we made a trip to Lake Matheson in Fox Glacier. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as we did this day! Lake Matheson is nestled in ancient forest and is famous for mirror views of Aoraki/Mount Cook and Mount Tasman. Its excellent reflecting properties are due to the dark brown colour of the water – the result of organic matter leached from the humus of the forest floor. Dawn and dusk are the best times to enjoy the reflections in the lake.

Our goal at roadtripnewzealand is to provide the best content on the web for people who are looking for New Zealand’s choicest little places.
