Martin Nature Center Oklahoma City Park and Trails
Created in response to the demand for conservation, Martin Park Nature Center is a 140-acre nature park that combines recreation, education, and wildlife. It features a hands-on nature museum highlighting the animal life, flora and fauna of Oklahoma, picnic area, and browsing library. Three hiking trails, bird observation wall and a watch tower are on site. Cottontail rabbits, deer, owls, foxes, squirrels, raccoons, opossum, skunk, coyote, muskrat, beaver, armadillo, and a variety of birds make Martin Park their home. Hiking trails lead visitors around a large pond, along the bubbling Spring Creek, beside wildflower meadows and through the park's woodlands. The park is located just west of Mercy Hospital.

Martin Park Nature Center - Barrier Breaking
Mayor Mick Cornett joined Councilman Patrick Ryan and executives from INTEGRIS Hospital and Wilderness Matters for the “barrier breaking” of the Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Hospital Courage Trail. The Courage Trail will provide improved access to the woodland trails in Martin Park Nature Center for people with disabilities. Wheelchair-friendly surface materials, interpretive signage and a raised wheelchair-accessible boardwalk are part of the project. Trail construction will begin this month. When complete, the Courage Trail will be the first accessible nature trail of its kind in Oklahoma, and one of only a handful of fully-accessible nature trails in the United States.
Design, construction and funding for the trail are provided by Oklahoma City-based Wilderness Matters, who first approached the City’s Park Commission about the project in 2012. The INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Hospital donated $500,000 for Phase I of the improvements.
Martin Park Nature Center is located at 5000 West Memorial Road. You can call the nature center at 297 – 1429.

Martin Nature Park in NWOKC!!
Took a picnic out to Martin Nature Park last week and it was awesome! Enjoyed a great time together and experienced up close deer!
What's incredible about this place is it is just south of the Kilpatrick Turnpike between Mercy Hospital (east side) and apartment complex (west side).
We've been by this park multiple times over the last 25 years and I'm ashamed to say this is our first actual visit. We will definitely revisit this great sanctuary. A diamond in the rough..
The area has multiple.5 mile trails and a great playground for kiddos!
