Martyr's Memorial Patna(BIHAR)
The Martyr's Memorial is a life-size statue of seven brave young men who sacrificed their lives in the Quit India movement(August 1942), to hoist the national flag on the (now) Secretariat building. The foundation stone of Martyr's Memorial was laid on August 15, 1947, by the governor of Bihar, Mr. Jairam Das Daulatram. The sculptor Mr. Deviprasad Roychoudhry built the bronze statue of the seven students with the national flag. These statues were cast in Italy and later placed here.

Ravi Kumar ended life as his wife, who stayed with him just for 15 days filed a false dowry case on him and his family. In this suicide video he shares how just an accusation by his wife made him and his family a criminal, a pain he could not bear.
Every year lacs of men and women get arrested in India under 498A also known as anti dowry law. Mere verbal accusations under this section lands a man and his entire family and even distant relatives, whosoever is named, behind bars. Thousands of men and their family members have ended their life because of the harassment meted out to them because of being accused under this section.
In december 2017, another young lawyer from Delhi committed suicide because of false accusations by his ex-wife and his torture because of it. He left a 13 page suicide note. Read about him here:
The irony is that while even a social media post sans any sort of evidence is enough for police to arrest a man in India today, even such heart wrenching tales and evidences by men do not serve as evidence enough to take action against the woman.

Guard of honour for the LoC martyrs

Students Uproar in Patna Secretariat
Students started to create disorder in Patna secretariat. The uproar was for the the mismanagement for creating scam in the result of examination of Bihar selection commission. All students demanded for re-examination and also gone for strike also.

1.Major Mariappan Saravanan, Vr.C (P)., I BN, The Bihar Regiment was among the First Officers to have laid down their life in Operation Vijay on 29th of May 1999. We, the Family Members and Founded Trustees of Major Saravanan Memorial Trust have constructed a monument in the memory of the brave martyr at our home town Tiruchirapalli Dist, Tamilnadu. This monument, situated within yards of 117 (TA) BN serves as a continuous source of inspiration to our youngsters imbibing in them qualities of ‘Selfless Sacrifice’ and ‘Pure Patriotism’ thus keeping alive the ideals our brave young soldiers lived with and the cause they died for! The total expenditure of Rs.7.4 lacks was borne by Mrs.Amirthavalli Mariappan, mother of Major M.Saravanan, Vr.C through our Trust.
2. To commemorate 20th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas we have renovate the Memorial as shown in the picture at a cost of Rs.8.35 lakhs with permission of the city and state offices. The monument that initially consisted of a hexagonal central granite block with Saravanan’s bust size picture, citation engraved in English & Tamil and an inverted rifle mounted atop it now also has four granite pillars with capital depicting. The Lion Capital of Ashoka, The emblem of Indian Army, The Bihar Regiment & Vir Chakra respectively.
3. It has been inaugurated by Brigadier M. Natarajan, Brigadier In Charge of Administration (Designate)

1942 में जब अंग्रेजों भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन की शुरूआत हुई. और 8 अगस्त को गांधी जी ने करो या मरो का नारा दिया. तब 11 अगस्त को इन सात सपूतों की कुर्बानी से बिहार में अगस्त क्रांति ने ज़ोर पकड़ा. इन शहीदों में एक अमर शहीद राजेंद्र सिंह की पत्नी, 90 साल की सुरेश देवी बताती हैं.
11 अगस्त 1942 अगस्त क्रांति और पटना सचिवालय के आगे छात्रों का संघर्ष. दोपहर हो चुका था, पटना और आस-पास के इलाकों से छात्रों का दल सचिवालय के बाहर इक्कठा हो गया. हज़ारों छात्र भारत माता की जय, वंदे मातरम् के नारे लगाने लगे. उन सबकी बस एक ही मांग थी. सचिवालय पर तिरंगा झण्डा फहराना.
सचिवालय की बाहरी दिवार पर झण्डा फहरा दिया गया. लेकिन मकसद तो सचिवालय के शीर्ष पर झण्डा फहराकर, अंग्रेजों को कड़ा संदेश देना था. वे अड़े रहे, फायरिंग की चेतावनी मिली फिर भी वो अटल रहें.
तब बिहार के Reserve Inspector General रहे ए. ई. वियन ने अपनी रिपोर्ट में लिखा है कि अंग्रेजों की चेतावनी के बाद भी वे नहीं हटे और अपनी-अपनी कमीजें उतारकर नंगी छाती दिखाते हुए फायरिंग की मांग करने लगे. उनमें से एक जिसने खाकी रंग की कमीज पहन रखी थी, ऐसा करने के लिए भीड़ से निकलकर बीच सड़क पर आ गया.
शाम 4 बजकर 57 मिनट पर फायरिंग हुई. 13 राउण्ड गोलियां चली जिसमें राजेंद्र सिंह समेत चार छात्र वहीं शहीद हो गए और तीन ने अस्पताल में अंतिम सांसे ली. भारत मां के लाडले भारत माता की आज़ादी के लिए मर मिटें.
इन शहीदों में 9th class के स्टूडेंट रहे देवीपद चौधरी, 11th class के स्टूडेंट रहे राजेंद्र सिंह, राम गोविंद सिंह, उमाकांत प्रसाद सिंह, रामानंद सिंह, सतीश प्रसाद सिंह, और आई.ए. सेकेंड इयर के स्टूडेंट रहे जगपति कुमार थें.
इन शहीदों की चिताओं से निकली चिनगारियों ने बिहार सहित पूरे देश में क्रांति की लहर दौड़ा दी थी.
इस साल बिहार के राज्यपाल सत्यपाल मलिक और नीतीश कुमार शहीदों को श्रद्धांजलि देने पहुंचे. जहां नीतीश कुमार ने शहीद राजेंद्र सिंह की पत्नी सुरेश देवी को पैर छु कर प्रणाम किया. सुरेश देवी को महज 4 दिनों तक ही अपने पती का साथ मिला, जिसके बाद उन्होंने अपना सारा जीवन अकेले ही गुज़ारना पड़ा.
वो सारी उम्र माइके में ही रही क्योंकि गौना से पहले ही उनके पति शहीद हो गए थे. 11 अगस्त की घटना के कुछ दिन पहले ही शहीद राजेंद्र सिंह अपनी पत्नी से मिलने पहुंचे थे लेकिन वो नहीं मिली.
वो बताती हैं कि इस बात का उन्हें हमेशा मलाल रहा कि शायद एक आखिरी मुलाकात संभव था, जिसमें वो उन्हें थोड़ा और समझ पाति लेकिन ऐसा नहीं हो सका.
