One fruit that retains its natural flavor. I headed to the farm where I raised the fruit. In Hawaiian, Ono means delicious. If you have confidence in how much you taste, did you name the farm delicious? These fruits go to supermarkets, fruit shops, chefs in hotels and restaurants. People in Maui are lucky. You can eat your fruit. I started to look around the farm, handing in a bit of a cowardice. Soon after, Abu became sincere. The fruit I saw for the first time was full of farms. It 's ripe. Is this really true? This should be like this. Grandfather demonstrating eating first. I also ate it as it was, The snow is bigger. A lot of weight. Sugar water is more than this. Sugar is the perfect name for Apple. This is the first fruit I have ever seen. What fruit? It 's a baby fruit, it' s a flower. In about three months, the baby fruit grows to this extent. After a month or so, this changes. I can eat the fruit from this fruit. Right now? Yes. My grandfather, who just started cutting the other fruit with a knife. This fruit, which looks like garlic, was called cacao. The outer white part is the fruit. I make chocolates with seeds. First, after fermenting the fruit for 5 days, take out the seed and let it dry. Once the seeds are dried out, they are baked and very fine. I mix it with sugar to make chocolate. I've eaten a lot of chocolate, but it's the first time I have cocoa. I greedy and picked up two. Suck it. Chew it? Do not chew it. Suck it. Sweet and sour. It was a refreshing taste that would not be believed to be the raw material of chocolate. I have that kind of taste. I really like it. I can eat ten of them at a time. Everyone in Hawaii really appreciates living here. We are really lucky people. Working with God and being happy That 's what we do. God always helps us and nurture these beautiful fruits. Everything from flowers to cacao fruit is possible only with God's help. The nature of Hawaii seemed to be a gift God gave to humans.

Maui Hawaii Travel Iao Valley | The Battle of Kepaniwai | Day visit to this beautiful State Park
At this beautiful park, you can enjoy things like swimming, hiking, picnics, photography, scenic views, and explore botanical gardens featuring native Hawaiian plants, Plan to spend anywhere from 1-3 hours at Iao Valley depending upon your interests.
Iao marks a historic place in Hawaii's history.
The Battle of Kepaniwai was fought in 1790 between Hawaiʻi Island and Maui. The forces of Hawaiʻi were led by Kamehameha I, while the forces of Maui were led by Kalanikūpule. It is known as one of the most bitter battles fought in Hawaiian history.
The streams of Iao Valley were said to have been blocked by bodies after the battle finished, the reason behind the name Kepaniwai, meaning “the damming of the waters.”

Alii Chang - Farmer and Visionary - Maui Hawaii
In loving memory of Alii Chang, Farmer & Visionary.
February 19, 1942 -- April 13, 2011
My passion has always been in the earth, says Alii Chang, who planted a lavender farm in upcountry Maui and made it into a work of art.
Local Maui farmer and visionary, Alii Arlington Chang, known best for his successful Alii Kula Lavender farm on the slopes of Haleakala, passed peacefully in his sleep April 13, 2011.
Alii's vision for the lavender farm was to create a venue for Sustainable Aloha. This included educational stewardship projects with the community. In honor of that respect and vision, the Ali'i Chang Foundation has been established to provide scholarships pursuing skills training in agriculture and for agricultural education in our local schools. Scholarship recipients should embody the very qualities Ali'i possessed including a strong work ethic, as well as innate and natural skills in growing plants, flowers, trees and food crops.
Applicants should also have an eye for design, a commitment to aloha, hospitality and aloha āina or love for the land. More information will be provided as the foundation is developed.

Shopping for Fresh Coconuts on Maui
We always buy our fresh Coconuts from this Farm stand in Kihei
Maui 2009
Home videos from our May 2009 trip to Maui.
0:04 - Waikani Falls
Probably the most picturesque waterfalls we found. Barely visible from the Road to Hana (between mile markers 21 and 22), we parked on the side of the road, climbed over a shack, and hiked across a rocky but shallow river to make it here. We had a picnic lunch by the lower falls (where we saw the hidden frog at 0:22).
0:24 - Twin Falls
One of the first stops on the road to Hana (just past mile marker 2), and definitely one of our favorite spots. We got a fresh smoothie from the fruit stand at the side of the road, and then hiked a ways until making it to this secluded area. Rope-swinging through a waterfall was one of my favorite memories - I did it at least half a dozen times.
0:29 - Haleakala Crater
It was a long, curvy drive to get to the rim, but the view at the top was worth it. We didn't hike down or do the sunrise/sunset thing like many do. The colorful valley peeking through the fast-moving clouds seemed like we were on another planet.
0:58 - Maui Magic
The Maui Magic snorkeling trip that takes off from Maalaea Harbor was a great way to snorkel near Molokini, see some turtles, ride down an onboard slide, and get burgers grilled by the captain himself.
1:41 - Old Lahaina Luau
Touristy but fun. Drink a Lava Flow and take advantage of unlimited Ahi Poke.
2:23 - Makena State Park / Big Beach
An enormous stretch of beach with solid waves and a beautiful sunset.

HAWAII: Maui Travel Guide 2019 | Travel with Me
Travel with me! Hey there, sharing this guide for things to do on vacation in super pretty, Maui. I have compiled a list of things to do, eat and sleep. Some of the things that are most memorable about my Maui vacation was the bamboo forest (Pipiwai Trail), a gorgeous banyan tree, the black sand beach at wai'anapanapa state park, the road to hana, passion fruit, fresh ponds for swimming and this list goes on!
I hope you've found this vacation guide helpful!
Have you ever been to the island of Hawaii? If so where?

America The Beautiful.
One of my most memorable thoughts about Maui is its breathtaking beauty.
Gorgeous beaches of all colors, red sand, black sand, white sand and water so blue it looked like a dream against its lush, green landscape. Eating fresh passion fruit for the first time is also something I will never forget. Until that trip I had never eaten passion fruit, I had only ever had candy or drinks that tried to mimic its incredible flavor. I did a lot of hiking in Maui, so being able to stop and pick a fresh piece of passion fruit along the way was amazing. There were also so many beautiful, fresh ponds to swim in and to top that off, there were fresh awahpui plants everywhere! If you’re unfamiliar with awapui, it is at ginger plant. If you squeeze it its sap can be used as a natural, gentle, shampoo and body soap. It was an ingredient that was featured and raved about in a Paul Mitchell hair product, I believe it is still a very highly rated product of his. Anyway, it was all the rave back then, so being able to just pick an awapui flower and wash my hair and skin as I swam made me feel so at one with mother earth and you couldn’t tell me nothin! Heaven.
One of my favorite hikes, a MUST DO, was the Pipiwai Trail and getting to see a banyan tree for the first time and it was enormous! it is as tall and wide or bigger than a house. It is simply majestic and you have to see it if you have the chance. It was wild to learn that it is a ficus plant and in mainland U.S. they only grow as big as a shrub, but in Maui they grow to be so HUGE! If you keep going along this trail, for about a mile, you will end up at a dreamy bamboo forest that extends almost 2 miles! If you feel like hiking that 2 miles you will be rewarded with a jaw dropping experience with a 400ft, Waimoku Falls. So bring great hiking shoes, water, repellent and respect all posted signs (very slippery in some parts and, during rains, you could experience flash floods in others. ????Be safe and STAY ON TRAILS. Flash Floods and falling rocks can be fatal).
????It is customary to remove your shoes before entering someone’s home.
????????????????Repect all posted signs????????????

Premiere Airdate: May 1, 2014
Kamehameha Schools Maui Middle tells about the history and values of the Nobriga family's Maui Soda and Ice Works.
Iao Valley State Park, Maui Hawaii
Iao Valley state park maui hawaii.Towering emerald peaks guard the lush valley floor of Iao Valley State Park. Located in Central Maui just west of Wailuku. This peaceful 4,000-acre, 10-mile long park is home to one of Maui's most recognizable landmarks, the 1,200-foot Iao Needle. This iconic green-mantled rock outcropping overlooks Iao stream and is an ideal attraction for easy hiking and sightseeing.
Aside from its natural tropical beautiful, sacred Iao Valley has great historical significance. It was here in 1790 at the Battle of Kepaniwai that King Kamehameha I clashed with Maui's army in his quest to unite the islands. Even with Iao Needle serving as a lookout point, Kamehameha defeated Maui's forces in a ferocious battle that ultimately changed the course of Hawaiian history.

Lānaʻi , State of Hawaiʻi, Pineapple Island prepares for Hurricane Lane
Lānaʻi (/ləˈnaɪ, lɑːˈnɑːi/;[1] Hawaiian: [laːˈnɐʔi, naː-]) is the sixth-largest of the Hawaiian Islands and the smallest publicly accessible inhabited island in the chain.[2] It is also known as Pineapple Island because of its past as an island-wide pineapple plantation. The island's only settlement of note is the small town of Lānaʻi City. As of 2012, the island was 97% owned by Larry Ellison (Founder and Chairman of Oracle),[3] with the remaining 3% owned by the state of Hawaiʻi and privately owned homes.[4]
Lānaʻi is a roughly apostrophe-shaped island with a width of 18 miles (29 km) in the longest direction. The land area is 140.5 square miles (364 km2), making it the 42nd largest island in the United States.[5] It is separated from the island of Molokaʻi by the Kalohi Channel to the north, and from Maui by the Auʻau Channel to the east. The United States Census Bureau defines Lānaʻi as Census Tract 316 of Maui County. Its total population shrank from 3,193 as of the 2000 census[6] to 3,102 as of 2010.[7] Many of the island's landmarks are accessible only by dirt roads that require a four-wheel drive vehicle.[citation needed]
There is one school, Lanai High and Elementary School, serving the entire island from kindergarten through 12th grade. There is also one hospital, Lanai Community Hospital, with 24 beds, and a community health center providing primary care, dental, behavioral health and selected specialty services in Lānaʻi City.[8][9] There are no traffic lights on the island.

The highest point in Lānaʻi is Mount Lānaʻihale. It is an inactive volcano near the center of the island and to the east of Lanai City. The elevation of Mount Lanaihale is 3,366 ft (1,026 m).[21]
Lānaʻi was traditionally administered in 13 political subdivisions (Ahupuʻa), grouped into two districts (mokuoloko): kona (Leeward) and koʻolau (Windward). The ahupuaʻa are listed below, in clockwise sequence, and with original area figures in acres, starting in the northwest of the island.[22]

Kamoku hosts the largest share of population, because the bigger part of Lānaʻi City falls into it. Parts of Lānaʻi City stretch to Kaa and Paomai. As of 2010, the remaining ahupuaʻa were virtually uninhabited. According to the census of 2000, Lānaʻi City accounts for 99 percent of the island population (3164 of 3193). As a census-designated place, Lānaʻi City is defined solely for statistical purposes, and not by administrative boundaries.
A volcanic collapse in Lanai 100,000 years ago generated a megatsunami that inundated land at elevations higher than 300 metres (980 ft).[24]
Tourism
Main article: Tourism in Hawaii
Tourism on Lānaʻi began to be prominent in more recent history as the pineapple and sugarcane industries were phased out in the islands. The number of visitors coming to the island is still relatively small, however, with around 59,000 arrivals forecast for 2016 - of all the publicly accessible Hawaiian islands only Molokaʻi attracts fewer visitors.[25]
As of 2016, the two resort hotels on Lānaʻi were managed by Four Seasons Hotels; the Four Seasons Resort Lanai in Manele Bay at Hulupoe Beach, just a few steps from where the ferry from Lāhainā docks, and the Lodge at Kōʻele in the mountains. The Hotel Lānaʻi in Lānaʻi City was built in 1923 by James Dole of the Hawaiian Pineapple Company as a lodge to house the executives overseeing the island’s pineapple production. It was the island’s only hotel until 1990.
Lānaʻi is also home to three golf courses, one at each Four Seasons resort and a third, free course.
The Challenge at Manele borders the ocean and was designed by Jack Nicklaus. Bill Gates was married on the 12th hole tee-box at The Challenge at Manele.
The Experience at Koele is located in the mountains of Lānaʻi and was designed by noted Southern California golf course architect
In Lānaʻi City, there are no traffic lights, no shopping malls, and public transportation is supplied by the hotels. For a one-time fee, hotel guests enjoy unlimited rides on small and large buses that go between the hotels and the ferry landing on Manele Bay.
