Kayaking - Clear Creek - Upper Tunnel 1
This video is a compilation of the run for Upper Tunnel 1, as I seldom come across any documentation of this portion of Clear Creek.
I led a crew of 5 experienced kayakers, but first timers for Upper T1. Upper Tunnel 1 is a lot of fun, with continuous Class III rapids until you reach the Lower Tunnel 1 put in. The put in is just below the diversion | pour overs, with an eddy downstream river right. Once on the creek, its run n gun! After going around the bend in the creek, the corner rapids were scouted. For first times down Upper T1, this rapid is intimidating. River right of this rapid tends to have snags and strainers at low water.
Crew: Dejan Smaic (TRR), Bryce Smaic (TRR), Matthew Berrafato (TRR), Laura Harley Andes, and Andy McKenna. Andy really rocked the run, and a big high 5 for making the moves!!

AUSTRALIA: RESCUED YACHTSMAN TONY BULLIMORE ON HMS ADELAIDE
Mute
The first pictures of the rescued round-the-world sailor Briton Tony Bullimore on board `HMAS Adelaide' have been released.
The 56-year-old Briton was rescued by the Australian navy frigate after surviving the mountainous seas and gales of the Southern Ocean for five days in the hull of his upturned yacht.
These pictures of Bullimore were taken moments after he stepped onto the safety -- and warmth -- of HMAS Adelaide.
Bullimore -- who fate was unknown for five days -- swam into the arms of rescuers from beneath his upturned yacht on Thursday.
The Panamanian freighter Mas Enterprise, with a British skipper, was the only vessel searching the area, 2,300 nautical miles from any inhabited land and out of the range of rescue planes.
This is a great story in the annals of sailing, acting prime minister Tim Fischer said on Australian radio. I think it has been an Australian privilege to fulfil the role it has been obliged to fulfil, he said. The successful four-day rescue operation is seen by some as a chance to improve Australia's sometimes squally relationship with France after rows over nuclear testing in the Pacific.
French President Jacques Chirac praised Australia's efforts, singling out Australian ambassador John Spender at his New Year reception at the Elysee Palace. Prime Minister Alain Juppe voiced admiration for the courage and efficiency of Australian
rescuers and said the French people would not forget.
British Prime Minister John Major, on a trip to India, offered his thanks to the Australian rescuers while Queen Elizabeth -- whom many Australians want to dump as the country's titular head of state -- also sent congratulations.
Dubois was plucked from a life raft by helicopter on Thursday. Bullimore, whose fate was unknown for five days, swam into the arms of rescuers from beneath his upturned yacht.
Both men ran into a storm on Sunday, capsizing in heavy seas about 60 miles apart some 1,400 miles Southwest of the Australian coast.
The frigate Adelaide is due to return to Perth on Monday morning after refuelling at sea on Saturday. Members of Bullimore's family plan to fly out to meet him.
The 56-year-old survived in a small space in the upturned hull of his yacht Global Exide Challenger as search aircraft dropped microphones and noise-emitting devices into the water around his yacht to reassure him of their presence.
The former Royal Marine, who was treated for hypothermia and dehydration, has said he feels born all over again after his ordeal, an Australian newspaper reported on Friday.
I've become more human. In these last six days I'm a different person, he was quoted as telling The Daily Telegraph. I won't be so rude to people, not that I was, but I'll be much more of a gentleman and, equally, I'll listen to people a lot more, he was quoted as saying. It was an incredible rescue, and I think it will probably
go down in history, he said.
Dubois told France 2 television by radio he had been certain of dying but clung to life because he had not seen enough of it. I really tried to hang in there. I am only 29 and I felt it was a pity to call it a day without having seen much of life. -- brought praise from Britain and an opportunity to smooth recent choppy relations with France.
However, as an Australian frigate headed back to port with Bullimore and Dubois aboard, French race organisers were co-ordinating a search for Canadian Gerry Roufs who is feared in trouble somewhere between South America and New Zealand.
A lone freighter searched for a Canadian yachtsman missing in rough seas on the fringes of Antarctica on Friday.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain

SUMMARY
=======
An airship or dirigible balloon is a type of aerostat or lighter-than-air aircraft that can navigate through the air under its own power. Aerostats gain their lift from large gasbags filled with a lifting gas that is less dense than the surrounding air.
In early dirigibles, the lifting gas used was hydrogen, due to its high lifting capacity and ready availability. Helium gas has almost the same lifting capacity and is not flammable, unlike hydrogen, but is rare and relatively expensive. Significant amounts were first discovered in the United States and for a while helium was only used for airships in that country. Most airships built since the 1960s have used helium, though some have used hot air.The envelope of an airship may form a gasbag, or may contain a number of internal gas-filled cells. An airship also has engines, crew, and optionally also payload accommodation, typically housed in one or more gondolas suspended below the envelope.
The main types of airship are non-rigid, semi-rigid, and rigid. Non-rigid airships, often called blimps, rely on internal pressure to maintain their shape. Semi-rigid airships maintain the envelope shape by internal pressure, but have some form of supporting structure, such as a fixed keel, attached to it. Rigid airships have an outer structural framework that maintains the shape and carries all structural loads, while the lifting gas is contained in one or more internal gasbags or cells. Rigid airships were first flown by Count Zeppelin and the vast majority of rigid airships built were manufactured by the firm he founded. As a result, rigid airships are often called zeppelins.Airships were the first aircraft capable of controlled powered flight, and were most commonly used before the 1940s; their use decreased as their capabilities were surpassed by those of aeroplanes. Their decline was accelerated by a series of high-profile accidents, including the 1930 crash and burning of the British R101 in France, the 1933 and 1935 storm-related crashes of the twin airborne aircraft carrier U.S. Navy helium-filled rigids, the USS Akron and USS Macon respectively, and the 1937 burning of the German hydrogen-filled Hindenburg. From the 1960s, helium airships have been used where the ability to hover for a long time outweighs the need for speed and manoeuvrability, such as advertising, tourism, camera platforms, geological surveys and aerial observation.

You Bet Your Life: Secret Word - Door / Foot / Tree
Julius Henry Groucho Marx (October 2, 1890 -- August 19, 1977) was an American comedian and film and television star. He is known as a master of quick wit and widely considered one of the best comedians of the modern era. His rapid-fire, often impromptu delivery of innuendo-laden patter earned him many admirers and imitators. He made 13 feature films with his siblings the Marx Brothers, of whom he was the third-born. He also had a successful solo career, most notably as the host of the radio and television game show You Bet Your Life. His distinctive appearance, carried over from his days in vaudeville, included quirks such as an exaggerated stooped posture, glasses, cigar, and a thick greasepaint mustache and eyebrows. These exaggerated features resulted in the creation of one of the world's most ubiquitous and recognizable novelty disguises, known as Groucho glasses, a one-piece mask consisting of horn-rimmed glasses, large plastic nose, bushy eyebrows and mustache.
Groucho Marx was, and is, the most recognizable and well-known of the Marx Brothers. Groucho-like characters and references have appeared in popular culture both during and after his life, some aimed at audiences who may never have seen a Marx Brothers movie. Groucho's trademark eye glasses, nose, mustache, and cigar have become icons of comedy—glasses with fake noses and mustaches (referred to as Groucho glasses, nose-glasses, and other names) are sold by novelty and costume shops around the world.
Nat Perrin, close friend of Groucho Marx and writer of several Marx Brothers films, inspired John Astin's portrayal of Gomez Addams on the 1960s TV series The Addams Family with similarly thick mustache, eyebrows, sardonic remarks, backward logic, and ever-present cigar (pulled from his breast pocket already lit).
Alan Alda often vamped in the manner of Groucho on M*A*S*H. In one episode, Yankee Doodle Doctor, Hawkeye and Trapper put on a Marx Brothers act at the 4077, with Hawkeye playing Groucho and Trapper playing Harpo. In three other episodes, a character appeared who was named Captain Calvin Spalding (played by Loudon Wainwright III). Groucho's character in Animal Crackers was Captain Geoffrey T. Spaulding.
On many occasions, on the 1970s television sitcom All In The Family, Michael Stivic (Rob Reiner), would briefly imitate Groucho Marx and his mannerisms.
Two albums by British rock band Queen, A Night at the Opera (1975) and A Day at the Races (1976), are named after Marx Brothers films. In March 1977, Groucho invited Queen to visit him in his Los Angeles home; there they performed '39 a capella. A long-running ad campaign for Vlasic Pickles features an animated stork that imitates Groucho's mannerisms and voice. On the famous Hollywood Sign in California, one of the Os is dedicated to Groucho. Alice Cooper contributed over $27,000 to remodel the sign, in memory of his friend.
In 1982, Gabe Kaplan portrayed Marx in the film Groucho, in a one-man stage production. He also imitated Marx occasionally on his previous TV sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter.
Actor Frank Ferrante has performed as Groucho Marx on stage for more than two decades. He continues to tour under rights granted by the Marx family in a one-man show entitled An Evening With Groucho in theaters throughout the United States and Canada with piano accompanist Jim Furmston. In the late 1980s Ferrante starred as Groucho in the off-Broadway and London show Groucho: A Life in Revue penned by Groucho's son Arthur. Ferrante portrayed the comedian from age 15 to 85. The show was later filmed for PBS in 2001. Woody Allen's 1996 musical Everyone Says I Love You, in addition to being named for one of Groucho's signature songs, ends with a Groucho-themed New Year's Eve party in Paris, which some of the stars, including Allen and Goldie Hawn, attend in full Groucho costume. The highlight of the scene is an ensemble song-and-dance performance of Hooray for Captain Spaulding—done entirely in French.
In the last of the Tintin comics, Tintin and the Picaros, a balloon shaped like the face of Groucho could be seen in the Annual Carnival.
In the Italian horror comic Dylan Dog, the protagonist's sidekick is a Groucho impersonator whose character became his permanent personality.
The BBC remade the radio sitcom Flywheel, Shyster and Flywheel, with contemporary actors playing the parts of the original cast. The series was repeated on digital radio station BBC7. Scottish playwright Louise Oliver wrote a play named Waiting For Groucho about Chico and Harpo waiting for Groucho to turn up for the filming of their last project together. This was performed by Glasgow theatre company Rhymes with Purple Productions at the Edinburgh Fringe and in Glasgow and Hamilton in 2007-08. Groucho was played by Scottish actor Frodo McDaniel.
