LAS VEGAS: The spectacular 'Volcano' show at The Mirage, Nevada (USA)
SUBSCRIBE: - The Volcano, The Mirage, Las Vegas. Vic Stefanu, vstefanu@yhaoo.com. The Mirage is a 3,044 room Polynesian-themed resort and casino resort located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, United States. The resort was built by developer Steve Wynn and is currently owned and operated by MGM Resorts International.
Las Vegas, in Nevada’s Mojave Desert, is a resort city famed for its vibrant nightlife, centered around 24-hour casinos and other entertainment options. Its main street and focal point is the Strip, just over 4 miles long. This boulevard is home to themed hotels with elaborate displays such as fountains synchronized to music as well as replicas of an Egyptian pyramid, the Venetian Grand Canal, and the Eiffel Tower.
The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
[4K] Las Vegas Show - The Mirage Volcano
The Volcano at The Mirage is igniting the Las Vegas Strip by combining fire with music and choreography - beautiful and thrilling at the same time.
WET, the company responsible for The Fountains of Bellagio, led the design team for the volcano. The volcano includes two volcano systems, a lagoon and fire shooters that shoot flame on demand. These massive fireballs are capable of shooting more than 12 feet into the air. It also features waterfalls with surrounding pools including fire and smoke effects.
Another exciting highlight of the volcano is its hypnotic music score. Mickey Hart, the legendary Grateful Dead drummer, and Indian music composer Zakir Hussain worked together to create and perform a soundtrack exclusively for the volcano. During the composing process, the two studied legends, myths and history about volcanoes. As a result, they incorporated instruments from around the world. The musical masterpiece infuses chants, percussion and other tribal elements.
The volcano's sound recordings come from actual eruptions. The volcano's state-of-the-art sound sonic sound system allows the audience to actually feel the rumble while a state-of-the-art computer system makes massive fireballs move to the rhythm.
To gain a full appreciation of the volcano's spectacular sights and sounds, patrons walking by the Mirage on the Las Vegas Strip are in luck. The best view of the volcano show is right in front of the hotel. Nothing beats being right there - up close - where you can feel the heat of the flames and hear the pulsating soundtrack. Guests staying on the 14th floor or above at The Mirage meanwhile can experience a top-notch aerial view of the attraction.
For those who arrive early enough to stand in front, the volcano actually gets quite toasty. Fiery choreography, water and music have never come together like this before.

The Mirage Volcano in Las Vegas (2011)
The Mirage Volcano erupts on The Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011. The all-new audio-visual spectacle is the result of The Mirage joining forces with legendary Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart, Indian tabla sensation Zakir Hussain and Fountains of Bellagio design firm WET.
The artificial volcano erupts nightly from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on the hour. Design firm WET, the company that created the Fountains of Bellagio attraction, improved the technology behind the volcano effect to make it more spectacular in 1996. To avoid the smell of uncombusted natural gas odorant, the mercaptan is stripped from the natural gas and a pina colada fragrance is added to the natural gas stream. The volcano closed for a second and more elaborate renovation in February 2008 and reopened on December 8, 2008. A new soundtrack complete with the sounds of actual volcanoes erupting has been included for an even more enhanced experience.
The Mirage is a 3,044 room hotel and casino resort located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, United States. It is connected by a free tram to Treasure Island. The marquee in front of the Mirage is the largest free-standing marquee in the world.
The Mirage was built by developer Steve Wynn and designed by Joel Bergman. It opened in November 1989 and was the first resort that was built with the money of Wall Street through the use of junk bonds. It was built on the site, formerly occupied by the Castaways and previous to that, the Red Rooster Nite Club.
The Mirage was the most expensive hotel-casino in history, with a construction cost of US$630 million. The hotel's distinctive gold windows get their color from actual gold dust used in the tinting process. It was reported that the resort would have to bring in a million dollars a day to pay off a 7-year construction loan. But in fact The Mirage did so well, the loan was paid off in just 18 months.
Its construction is also considered very noteworthy in that Wynn had set a new standard for Vegas resorts, and is widely considered to be the father of today's Las Vegas.

Mirage Vulcano Show, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, North America
The Mirage is a 3,044 room Polynesian-themed hotel and casino resort located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, United States. The resort was built by developer Steve Wynn and is currently owned and operated by MGM Resorts International. The original marquee sign in front of the Mirage is the largest free standing marquee in the world. The resort is connected by a free tram to the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino neighboring the hotel's property to the north. The Mirage was built by developer Steve Wynn and designed by Joel Bergman. It opened on November 22, 1989 and was the first resort that was built with the money of Wall Street through the use of junk bonds. It was built on the site formerly occupied by the Castaways and prior to that, the Red Rooster Nite Club. In 1980, Steve Wynn, a family friend, asked Roger Thomas to join a team designing the first major ground-up resort in Las Vegas in 25 years, a hotel and casino more sophisticated than others in the city. This would become The Mirage resort and hotel, which opened in 1989. The Mirage was the most expensive hotel-casino in history, with a construction cost of US $630 million. The hotel's distinctive gold windows get their color from actual gold dust used in the tinting process. Its construction is also considered noteworthy in that Wynn had set a new standard for Vegas resorts, and is widely considered to be the father of today's Las Vegas. Prior to The Mirage's opening, the city was experiencing a decline in tourism that began in the 1970s, especially around the time that the state of New Jersey legalized gambling and tourists (in particular those on the East Coast) began to frequent the casinos of Atlantic City. Also, this was a time when Las Vegas was no longer considered a fashionable destination, so a new, high-profile, project was necessary to jump-start the ailing industry. When it opened, The Mirage was the first casino to use security cameras full-time on all table games. From 1990 through 2003, The Mirage was the venue for the Siegfried & Roy show. The two headliners combined magic and the use of wild animals. The show closed in 2003 after performer Roy Horn was bitten and injured by one of the white tigers used in the show. In 1993, The Mirage hosted an extended run of the Cirque du Soleil show Nouvelle Expérience in a tent in The Mirage parking lot. It was during this time that Steve Wynn decided to invite Cirque to create Mystère for the soon-to-be-built Treasure Island resort next door. Finally returning to where they began in Las Vegas, Cirque du Soleil has a permanent production at The Mirage, LOVE. In 2004, Danny Gans took over the marquee becoming the resort's main entertainment attraction. In December 2006, the Beatles-themed REVOLUTION ultra-lounge opened. It was the first time Cirque du Soleil was involved in the development of a nightlife venue, operated by The Light Group. Gans left The Mirage in February 2009 to star in a show at the Encore Las Vegas. In 2009, ventriloquist and 2007 America's Got Talent winner Terry Fator began a 5-year run at the hotel. Also in 2009, The Mirage was featured on The Amazing Race 15, where one team member had to bungee the other into the air to grab a bouquet of flowers presented in the Love theater. In November 2012 The Mirage casino became the first Las Vegas casino to offer Geoff Hall's Blackjack variant Free Bet Blackjack. In 2014, The Mirage was featured in The Amazing Race 24, where teams had to replace the lightbulbs in the letter 'I' in 'Mirage'.

MIRAGE HOTEL LAS VEGAS VOLCANO ERUPTION DESCRIPTION
The musical Volcano eruption at The Mirage hotel las vegas is igniting the Las Vegas Strip by combining fire with music and choreography -- beautiful and thrilling at the same time.
Since its opening in 1989, the volcano has been one of most popular attractions on the Strip. In 1996, the volcano added new water, lighting and sound effects. Today, the volcano is looking - and sounding - better than ever thanks to a $25 million redesign, which reopened to the public on Dec. 8, 2008.
