Mount Monadnock New Hampshire (1080p)
Hiking Mount Monadnock | New Hampshire Hikes
Today I am hiking the most hiked mountain in the United States, Mount Monadnock. It a was a very hot and humid Saturday. Despite the weather, the trail was still packed with people (as it usually is on the weekends in the summer). We took the Parker Trail to an old Toll Road, these trails actually go around the back of the mountain and then up the back. Going this way, is definitely longer, but because of this there are far less people. We only saw four groups of hikers on this trail.
On the way down, we took the White Cross trail (one of the main trails). This one goes straight down the front of the mountain to the main parking lot. We were pretty much stuck in a hiker traffic jam the entire way down.
If you are looking to hike the most popular mountain in the US, I'd suggest going on a week day. If you are up for the challenge, check out the other trails on this mountain. Taking alternate trails can extend your hike (more time in nature) but it also gives the popular trails a break which are eroding quickly.
When you go hiking, please remember to leave no trace. Do not pollute (noise or actual litter), do not destroy plants (this includes carving into trees or rocks), stay on the rocky path (even if its muddy), and please be respectful of the hikers and nature around you.
If you've hiked this trail before, comment below and tell me your experience!

Osgood Hill (Black Top)- Nelson, NH
I figure better late than never. On June 19th, 2014, I hiked 2,233 ft. Osgood Hill, aka Black Top, in the small NH town of Nelson. I parked at the end of Brickyard Rd. and followed the sign and white blazes up a private road to an old woods road, which the trail followed. From there, the trail follows or skirts the road (although I missed most of this part by following the road to the ridgecrest), then attains the ridgecrest and passes through intense overgrowth to the summit (big sign).
