Day 2 of our Greece adventures. We've spent an entire day exploring different neighborhoods of the city. First, we've started with Monastiraki. Lots of shops! Great time to pick up your souvenirs. Then we wandered through the streets of Psyrri - an artistic area of Athens. In the evening we went to Plaka, the oldest area of the city, to check out a local bar. Then we headed to a nearby restaurant for a feast where we also enjoyed listening to beautiful Greek music... What a day!

Monastiraki - Athens, Greece
Monastiraki (Μοναστηράκι) is a flea market neighborhood in the old town of Athens, Greece, and is one of the principal shopping districts in Athens (το παζάρι Γιουσουρούμ). The area is home to clothing boutiques, souvenir shops, and specialty stores, and is a major tourist attraction in Athens and Attica for bargain shopping. The area is named after Monastiraki Square, which in turn is named for the Church of the Pantanassa that is located within the square. The main streets of this area are Pandrossou Street and Adrianou Street.
Along the Adrianou street facing the Acropolis and the Attalos stoa is one of the best places for relax and enjoy the scenery at one of the numerous cafes and restaurants in this area is located the church of Agios Phillipos with its clock that bells every hour. From the Monastiraki square after the old mosque that today hosts a ceramic collection, towards Areos street is the Roman Library of Hadrian. Following that street and turning to the left at Dexipou street you will get to the monument of the bath of the winds or Aerides.

This is a short walk I took through the neighborhood of Plaka and Monastiraki Plaza in Athens just a week ago. It is my very first travel video which I am shooting with a very simple and small camera, and being completely new to video making of this kind, so hey, bear with me, subscribe, and see what other places in the world you can join me in! So far I have travelled to some 20 countries and lived on 4 continents, and only now beginning to record my odyssey. I start around the tourist shops then continue on to Adrianou Street where there are many great outdoor restaurants. From there I head back towards Monastiraki on Ermou Street which also has many restaurants and some bars.
