Warga Hong Kong meluncurkan gerakan Pawai Mong Kok pada Sabtu, 3 Agustus 2019 yang lalu, untuk menentang revisi Ordonansi Pelanggar Hukum. Polisi pada awalnya mengeluarkan surat izin perkumpulan pawai di Anchor Street Playground & Hard Ground Football Stadium pada Senin, 1 Agustus 2019.
Setelah penyelenggara mengajukan banding pada 2 Agustus, polisi mengeluarkan surat izin pawai di rute baru dengan garis akhirnya di Cherry Street Park yang terpisah satu blok, yang kemudian menjadi pawai di Tai Kok Tsui, di barat Mong Kok di Kowloon, Hong Kong.

Police became trapped after a fight broke out between them and protesters in Sha Tin MTR station. This incident followed an arrest in the station where the officers had used pepper spray on the crowd on the evening of September 7. It was the worst incident of violence as anti-government demonstrations entered their 14th consecutive weekend.
