The Volga River is the largest river in Europe flowing in western Russia and is called the Mother Volga River. And on this huge river is the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin. The Kremlin, which stands for medieval Russian fortifications and fortresses, can be found anywhere in Russia's big cities. With a total of 13 towers and 2 km of walls, the history of the Kremlin dates back to the early 13th century. The Kremlin, which was originally a wooden tower and rebuilt with bricks in the early 16th century, is still greatly loved. The Kremlin is the center of our city, a resort and a historic place. I can show children how history was created and created. So here is always good energy. I'm glad that people with good heart are coming. I went inside to get a closer look at the Kremlin. The Kremlin, which was used as a fighter plane as well as the city government offices, remains intact inside. In particular, there is a huge wall painting made by photographs of Russian veterans who were sacrificed in World War II. A devastating World War II that spawned some 50 million victims worldwide. More than half of them, about 29 million deaths, came from Russia, so you can see how sacrificial they were. Every big city with a population of 500,000 or more lives in Russia, celebrating the sacrifice of those who were victims of the war. Almost everyone lost their family. Somebody lost a father, someone lost a child, and a husband lost. It is really good for young people to remember the war without forgetting it. Do not forget. They gave their lives for our country.

Farewell to Russia - From Moscow to Murmansk
After four years in the country, Jelle Brandt Corstius says goodbye to his Russia. He visits people and places that are illustrative of the way he has come to know Russia. Thus, he takes us to the subway in Moscow, which forms a society in itself. With his landlord, Jelle visits a Russian Orthodox mass, a promise from long ago that Jelle finally redeemed. We are following him during a visit to a shelter for poor Russians, located directly across the mayor's house, who does everything he can to get rid of them, because they spoil his view.
In the first series: From Moscow to Magadan, Jelle Brandt Corstius traveled from West to East, focusing on the endless Russian countryside and the villages. In this second series: From Moscow to Murmansk, he travels from North to South along the largest river of Russia: the Volga River. A trip along the relatively unknown cities like Murmansk, Volgograd, Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod, but also to Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Through topics like women in Russia, new censorship, the environmental problem from Russian perspective and the ideological vacuum, a relatively unknown side of Russia is once again exposed.

Hazing Russian soldiers - Fowm Moscow to Murmansk
In Russia, the duty of service still exists and the hazing of newcomers is a national drama that claims many victims every year. In Murmansk, Jelle Brandt Corstius visits the Soldiers Mothers Committee where concerned mothers are trying to save their sons. Jelle drinks with war veterans to the fallen comrades, and speaks to a mother whose son committed suicide after cruel hazing practices during his service.

Russian censorship - From Moscow to Murmansk
Censorship in Russia is not limited to journalism: in all possible areas people are threatened and opposed. In this episode of 'From Moscow to Murmansk' Jelle Brandt Corstius brings attention to censorship in Russia and (death) threats to critical journalists, human rights activists and dissidents.

Foreign Ministry Deputy Wants to Ban Subversives Like Jehova’s Witnesses From Russia!
Subscribe to Vesti News
We'll surely expand the blacklist of American citizens that are barred from entering. And we say this without reserve. That's what Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stated when addressing Moscow's reaction towards the actions of the U.S. State Department, which added the Head of the Surgut Investigation Department and the local senior investigator into its blacklist along with their relatives. It may seem like a strange decision. The American foreign service and the Russian investigating committee employees are too far from each other.

Moscow to Resettle, Russia to be Divided by 14. What's in the Government’s Plans by Time Forward
Original description (September 2, 2018): Russia is on the edge of big changes. So big, perhaps, that were not seen for an entire modern period of existence of our state. Because of large-scale administrative reforms, Moscow will no longer be the only center of interests, and the country will be divided into 14 macro-regions. About all this and more in our today's issue.

citizen in orbit THREE
Greg Olsen was the third private citizen to orbit the earth on the International Space Station (ISS). After training for five months (900 hours) at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Moscow, he launched on a Russian Soyuz rocket TMA-7 on October 1, 2005 with Cosmonaut Valeri Tokarev and Astronaut Bill McArthur (Expedition 12). He then docked to the ISS on October 3, and returned to earth on Soyuz TMA-6 on October 11 with Cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev and Astronaut John Phillips (Expedition 11). He performed over 150 orbits of the earth and logged almost 4 million miles of weightless travel during his 10 days in space.
