Sigrid Meulemans from Antwerp, Belgium, melted the jury’s hearts with her moving shadow puppet video. She won a trip to Tampere and to the World's only Moomin Museum as the Moomin Museum Guest of Honour. This is a story of her adventures in Tampere in August (2018).

탐페레는 풍부한 수량으로 수력발전이 가능해 핀란드 최초로 산업혁명이 일어난 도시. 그래서인지 도시 곳곳에서 높이 솟은 굴뚝들을 쉽게 찾아볼 수 있다. 핀란드의 유명한 섬유회사도 이곳에서 시작했지만 지금은 공장들이 떠나고 그곳을 사무실이나 주거시설로 개조해 사용중이었다. “탐페레는 좋은 도시였어요. 산업 덕분에 일자리가 많아 사람들이 많이 모였어요. 요즘은 아주 다른 도시예요. 전통적인 산업을 하지 않고 무역을 해요. 공장은 다른 곳으로 다 이전했어요.” 예전의 영화와 활기를 잃어버린 탐페레. 하지만 최근 새로운 바람을 일으키는 것이 있었으니 바로 세계최초로 세워진 무민박물관이다. 핀란드의 국민 캐릭터 무민. 핀란드 동화작가 토베 얀손이 1945년 발간한 ‘무민가족과 홍수’라는 책에서 처음 등장하는데 전설 속 괴물인 트롤을 재창조한 캐릭터다. 이 박물관에는 토베 얀손의 원화 2,000여 점이 전시돼 있다. 그리고 동화 속에서 나타난 다양한 무민의 모습이 앙증맞은 미니어처로 전시돼 있다. “박물관에 다양한 나이대의 사람들이 방문합니다. 어떤 사람들은 자기 아이들이나 손주들에게 무민 책을 읽어주었어요. 핀란드의 모든 세대가 무민을 알고 사람들마다 무민을 받아들이는 의미도 달라요.” 세속적인 이익을 탐하지 않고 자연 친화적인 삶을 추구하는 무민가족의 이야기. 이들의 이야기는 오랜 전쟁의 고통을 겪으며 자연 속에서 평온한 삶을 그렸던 핀란드 사람들의 소망과 닮아있다. “무민의 역사에 관한 것들이 인상적이었어요. 여기 오기 전까진 만화를 통해서만 무민에 대해 알았는데 와서 보니 정말 좋네요.” “저도 책이나 TV를 통해 무민을 알고 있었는데 와보니 정말 좋아요.”

Moominvalley Theme Park Japan: First Moomin park outside of Finland

Moomin Valley Park in Saitama, Japan - the first Moomin theme park outside Finland, opened March 2019 at Lake Miyazawa. The surroundings of the lake remind a lot of Finland where Tove Jansson lived and created the Moomins. Aimi is here to give you a brief guide through the main areas of the park and showing you all the fun attractions and eateries that await your visit.

In the Moominvalley Park you will get to know the Moomins and their friends and make wonderful new discoveries – Moomin House, the lighthouse and bathing hut that appear in the original stories, and several attractions going through the world of Moomins. The park will convey the charm of Moomin stories, and creative imagination of their author, Tove Jansson.
