Indonesia Trip : Mount Lokon Sulawesi Indonesia
Mount Lokon, together with Mount Empung, is a twin volcano (2.2 km or 1.4 mi apart) in the northern Sulawesi, Indonesia, roughly 10 km (6 mi) south of Manado. Both rise above the Tondano plain and are among active volcanoes of Sulawesi. Mount Lokon has a flat and craterless top. Its active crater is located on its foot, named Tompaluan crater.
Lokon formed during a period of andesitic volcanism on ring fractures resulting from the Tondano caldera's early to mid-Pleistocene collapse. Recently erupted material remains andesitic in composition and consists of ash plumes and, less commonly, pyroclastic flows and lava domes.
The volcano erupted on 15 July 2011, forcing thousands of people to evacuate.
The volcano again began showing signs of activity on 10 February 2012, and 19 September 2012 (11:01pm). An eruption occurred at 8:20, am the same day sending an ash plume two miles into the sky. Local residents have been evacuated from a two and a half mile exclusion zone around the volcano. An eruption occurred on 17 December 2012.
Indonesia has 129 volcanoes including Mount Lokon. The eruption of Mount Lokon in 1991 killed a Swiss hiker and forced thousands of people to flee their homes.

Mount Tondano in the province of North Sulawesi, Sulawesi, Indonesia, has a 20 × 30 km wide caldera which was formed in the Late Miocene or Early Pliocene formed by a massive eruption.Post caldera activity includes Pyroclastic cones, obsidian flows and geothermal areas in the caldera area.The Lake Tondano lies in the east side of the caldera.The 5 km long and 3.5 km wide ellipsoidal Pangolombian caldera lies entirely within the Tondano Caldera, and formed from a large eruption of an older Somma volcano In more recent times, the somma volcanoes of Soputan, Sempu, Lokon-Empung and Mahawu have been constructed along the rim of the Tondano caldera, with Soputan being the youngest and most frequently active of the group.

Mount Mahawu is a stratovolcano located immediately east from Lokon-Empung volcano in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The volcano is capped with 180 m wide and 140 m deep crater with two pyroclastic cones in the northern flanks. A small explosive eruption was recorded in 1789. In 1994, fumaroles, mudpots and small geysers actitivies were observed along the greenish shore of a crater lake.

Trip Gunung Lokon di Tomohon | Sulawesi Utara
Puncak gunung Lokon berjarak sekitar 5.300 meter di sebelah barat laut dari Kota Tomohon dan sekita 6.700 meter di sebelah barat daya dari kota kecamatan Pineleng. Dari ibukota provinsi Manado jaraknya hanya sekitar 20 kilometer di barat daya kota
Gunung Lokon pada Oktober 1991 pernah meletus yang menimbulkan kerugian material mencapai Rp 1 miliar. Ribuan jiwa penduduk di Desa Kakaskasen I, Kakaskasen II, Kinilow dan Tinoor, ketika itu setempat diungsikan besar-besar ke sejumlah daerah yang dinilai tidak rawan karena atap ribuan rumah penduduk hancur dihantam batu dan debu setebal 15 sampai 20 cm. Dalam musibah tersebut, seorang wisatawan asal Swiss, Vivian Clavel yang berkunjung saat terjadi letusan hebat itu tidak dapat ditemukan. Ia dipastikan tewas tertimbun longsoran lahar dingin.
Walaupun Gunung ini aktif tapi banyak orang yang mendaki gunung ini, karena gunung ini sangat indah.
