Mount Harriet National Park is one of the major tourist attractions in Andaman. A true traveler’s delight, the sanctuary is blessed with a variety of places to visit. Blessed with an amazing array of natural beauty. Mount Harriet National Park is one such place that is a must see place in Port Blair.
Andaman has about 9 national parks and Mount Harriet is the most beautiful of them. It is in the Ferargunj Tehsil of Port Blair and takes about an hour to reach. It is the second highest and the most easily accessible peak of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The peak offers some of the most breathtaking views of sunrise and the azure blues of Andaman Sea all around. The place as such does not have much to see but it can be a perfect place to relax for a day or two. It is far from any kind of noise.
Get to hear the birds chirping or the whistles of the win through the leaves of the thick trees. It is also ideal for those who want to do a light trek along the trail. The view is so captivating that once you are there, you would never wish to come back. It is said that this view is the same which is printed as a background image on an INR 20 note.
There is also a Forest Guest House if you want to spend a night at the national park. This is an exciting getaway in the Andaman Islands. Take off to the island for a day with an undisturbed date with nature.

Mount Harriet National Park is a national park located in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands union territory of India. The park, established in 1969, is the third-highest peak in the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago next to Saddle Peak in North Andaman and Mount Thullier in Great Nicobar.
The picture on the back side of ₹ 20 note is taken form Mount Harriet National Park The park is named in commemoration of Harriet C. Tytler, the second wife of Robert Christopher Tytler, a British army officer, an administrator, naturalist and photographer, who were appointed Superintendent of the Convict Settlement at Port Blair in the Andamans from April 1862 to February 1864.Harriet is remembered for her work in documenting the monuments of Delhi and for her notes at the time of the Revolt of 1857 in India.

Best time to visit Andaman is October to march
sunscreen is a must carry item
Internet doesn't work there, you can use bsnl sim for calling, airtel network is available at some place ,hotel WiFi is also slow, complete all online bookings before you reach Andaman..

Hotels we stayed @ port Blair ( total 4 days)
1) TSG grand - really good one, little expensive, v good food, rooms n service, Activa on rent available nearby, I can give 4/5 stars
2) Isle coral bed n break fast homestay ( near Gandhi park - simply the best. Best place to stay, good breakfast, very humble people, big rooms n terrace, economic, activa on rent available
3) Andaman teal house - economic, in centre of city, rooms r good, not much option for veg food, it's not bad though
Best pure veg food available at Annapurna restaurant in city area, happy belly food truck ( in city on the way to Corbyn's cove beach)
Water sports activities are good in Havelock island,Neil island and North bay ... V did not do activities in port Blair as water is much better at above mentioned places
