Mount Konocti -- Konocti Caverns -- Drone Exploration
Poking around the east side of Mt. Konocti's south peak (Wright Peak) looking for petroglyphs, caves, megaliths, and anything interesting.
See: Konocti Caverns hollow mountain and underground lake mystery. One of the most significant, yet undiscovered cavern finds. Wright Peak is the location of the old Bottomless Pit (~30 foot volcanic shaft) and the last of Robert Zalusky's expeditions. The legendary Zenith Gate may be on the mountain.
This video explores some interesting rocks -- one rock I call Monument Stone due to natural or man-carved flat sides. Drone also spends some time looking at a rock bluff for a geologist to study as natural or perhaps part of ruins. Some legends state one path to the interior is composed of booby-trapped megaliths, so aerial exploration for any unnatural rock outcroppings is interesting.

I was doing a visual inspection of a house near Konocti Bay on 8-4-2012 at Clear Lake California and as I came down the private drive I noticed this little western pond turtle laying eggs. The eggs should hatch between 80 - 125 days which puts the hatch-lings sometime in October. These are nice reptiles to have around because algae is on the list of things they like to eat. This is another nice thing about living by the Lake.

A drive along the north shore of Clear Lake and up into the Mendocino National Forest to the east shoulder of Pinnacle Rock 4,618' on a beautiful spring day 2015. Mount Konocti 4,299' is the big dormant volcano along the south shore of the lake. Also views north to Goat Mtn. 6,121, 'Snow Mtn. 7,056' and Hull Mtn. 6,873' from Windy Point and then Clear Lake and Konocti from High Valley Ridge at the end.

2019 Lake Tahoe Birthday
My wife took me on a two-day trip to Tahoe to celebrate my birthday. Well, we were not actually *at* Tahoe on my birthday, due to a commitment I could not change. So, we spent the two days before my birthday there. And went out to dinner the evening of my actual birthday. Worked out great.
Weather was perfect; high of 81 (it was 100 in Cool, CA, where I live.) Blue sky, blue lake, puffy cumulus clouds, very little wind.
So here is a video I put together using pics that I took. Actually most of the pics are not at Tahoe itself, they are from various places along the way: Rainbow Lodge, Donner Lake, Squaw Valley, Eagle Falls/Emerald Bay.
