Welcome to Wellington Park, featuring Mount Wellington, locally known as 'the Mountain' or kunanyi. The Park stretches over 20km west of the Mountain's pinnacle, and encompasses 18,250ha. Easily accessible from Hobart, Glenorchy and other regional areas, this reserve connects the city to the bush, and the mountains to the waterways.

The views from Mount Wellington are breath taking and a must see. To reach Mt Wellington is an approx. 20 minute drive from Hobart CBD. Summer is a good time to visit as there is no snow and clear views most days from the top.

In the second video instalment from Tasmania we head up to the top of Mount Wellington, the views of Hobart and the surrounding area were absolutely breathtaking... as was the icy cold wind. After a visit to the Shot Tower at Taroona we headed back to have a walk around the port in Hobart. The following day we visited a replica of Douglas Mawson's Hut which houses a fascinating museum about the his Antarctic expedition, after that we headed out on a great boat trip with Finn from Pennicott Wilderness Journeys.

Mount Wellington, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia
Mount Wellington is a mountain in the southeast coastal region of Tasmania, Australia. It is the summit of the Wellington Range and is within the Wellington Park reserve. Located at the foothills of the mountain is much of Tasmania's capital city, Hobart.
We drove up to the mountain and we get to see a 360-degree view of Tasmania and Hobart itself, it was stunning! The observatory did not really get more spectacular views, but it was still worth it.

Mt Wellington in Hobart is often covered in mist, hiding its panoramic views. We are here on a beautiful clear and sunny daywith only a hint of smoke from the recent bushfires. Views from the Organ pipes right around to the Derwent River are amazing. Background music is Raindrops by Huma Huma.

We took a drive to the top of Mt Wellington before the snow melted, it was cold, windy and cloudy not for making good video of our beautiful mountain the backdrop to Hobart but it was great to visit if only briefly.... The actual height of the mountain is 4163 above sea level

Mount Wellington, officially kunanyi / Mount Wellington, incorporating its Palawa kani name (Aboriginal: Unghbanyahletta or Poorawetter , is a mountain in the southeast coastal region of Tasmania, Australia. It is the summit of the Wellington Range and is within the Wellington Park reserve. Located at the foothills of the mountain is much of Tasmania's capital city, Hobart.
The mountain rises to 1,271 metres (4,170 ft) above sea level[2] and is frequently covered by snow, sometimes even in summer, and the lower slopes are thickly forested, but crisscrossed by many walking tracks and a few fire trails.There is also a sealed narrow road to the summit, about 22 kilometres (14 mi) from Hobart central business district. An enclosed lookout near the summit has views of the city below and to the east, the Derwent estuary, and also glimpses of the World Heritage Area nearly 100 kilometres (62 mi) west. From Hobart, the most distinctive feature of Mount Wellington is the cliff of dolerite columns known as the Organ Pipes.
