Mt. Takao (Takao-san) is a mountain easily accesible from Tokyo. I visited in mid-November, which is the best time to see the fall colors.

Mount Takao is a mountain in the city of Hachiōji, Tokyo, Japan. It is protected within Meiji no Mori Takao Quasi-National Park. Standing 599 metres tall and located within an hour of downtown Tokyo, it is a popular hiking spot, with eight hiking courses and more than 2.5 million annual visitors.

HIking Takao-San || Mount Takao, Hachioji, Japan
Mount Takao is a really great nature day trip from Tokyo! Only around an hour and half by train from Shibuya! My friends and I hiked up with scenic route to reach the top, pray at the famous shrine, and eat the best soba in Japan!
Yakuo-In is a famous temple established in 775 AD and is known for its statues of Tengu. Tengu are yokai known as tricksters in certain stories and devoted mountain hermits in others. They are crow like creatures with fans that sweep away fortune and if your'e lucky maybe they will teach you magic.

Japan TravelVlog: Mount Jinba - Mount Takao (Hachioji, Tokyo, Japan)
We climbed Mount Jinba and traversed two mountains (Mt. Kagenobu and Mt. Shiroyama) to reach Mt. Takao. It was an 8-hour hike from Jinba Kogen Shita to the bottom of Mt. Takao.
New Years 2015 Mt.Takao in Hachioji
On New Years Eve we headed up to Mt.Takao, the local tourist destination in Hachioji, and we visited a Buddhist temple. We saw amazing views of the city, lots of food, lots of people, and some amazing shrines. Happy New Year and have a great 2016!

紅葉 (Momiji)
A Word with uniqueness, just as the colors of the leafs that can be seen in the autumn of japan.
Mountain Takao, one of the most popular attractions in Japan and just 1 hour away train ride from Tokyo, making it a good spot to witness the beginning of the enclosure of the year, covering the whole foliage and landscape with the rich autumn colors only available this season.
As the climbing goes, you are able to sense how the cool breeze of the air is being mixed with the warm of the colors red and orange on the leafs, making possible to experience how would it feel if you could enter into the canvas of a painting that is being worked on.
The colors, the season, the landscape; a unique trait only to this time of the year.
Nature goes to sleep, the fallen leafs are a red carpet in the making, ready to welcome the snow and cold of the winter.

Takao(高尾),Maybe the Last chance to see Sakura this year in Tokyo. Now,The cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
I took the train on this morning(April 4), I have seen a lot of cherry blossoms in full bloom along the chuo rapid line(Kokubunji and Kunitachi, especially Takao- Mt, Takao). Still chance to do hanami!(Tama area-Western Tokyo)
