My Experience Trekking Sapa Valley, Vietnam (PART ONE) | travel vlog
This was one of the best experiences of my life.
I highly recommend anyone making a trip to Vietnam to stop by the northern parts and do a trek up there.
It is just breathtakingly beautiful.
If you have any questions on how I got there, how I did this trek, etc., please don't hesitate to leave one down below. I'm always happy to help!

TREKKING IN SAPA VIETNAM | Hiking to Lao Chai village
Today we are in the small mountainous town of Sapa, Vietnam.
A big draw to Sapa is its hiking trails which is a popular tourist attraction. Not being big trekkers, we decided to test our physical abilities when we took on a 1 day trek (12km) to Lao Chai Village.
We took the difficult route to Chai Village through mud and fell a number of times! We were almost run down by a herd of frightened buffalo, ate lunch in the remote village of Lao Chi and enjoyed an amazing trek with only our guide and the nature around us which is beautiful Sapa, Vietnam.

Hiking through Sapa Valley Vietnam to see the Rice Paddies & Local Villages
We highly recommend you visit Sapa in Vietnam! We spent one day hiking through the Sapa rice terraces and local Sapa hmong villages and not only did we see some incredible scenery but we learnt so much about the local way of life!

TREKKING WITH OUR HMONG GUIDE IN THE WINTER // SAPA, VIETNAM
We went on one of the most memorable treks we've ever been on while we were in Sapa. It helps to have a wonderful and spunky guide, May. It's one of those places we'd consider coming back again.

SaPa, Vietnam -- Trekking & Homestay
Leaving Hanoi on the day Typhoon Haiyan was supposed to strike down upon the city, I was very thankful my initial plans to see Sapa were still intact (although I worried for the Vietnamese that might be in its direct path). Later, I would learn that by the time Haiyan struck Hanoi, it had been downgraded from the Cat 5 it was in the Phillipines to a tropical depression. The country certainly dodged a bullet and I lived to tell the tale along with everyone else. Anyways, back to my journey into the Sapa Highlands of northern Vietnam near the Chinese border....completely amazing. Perfect weather I had (although hot and humid at times) along with some amazing memories staying with a tribal family in the area...as authentic an experience as one could have! I highly recommend the organization Sapa O'Chau to maximize your time in Sa Pa, Vietnam. You won't regret it. When I look back upon my life years from now, I am certain my time here in Sapa will go down as one of my top travel memories of my entire lifetime!
Trekking with Hmong Villagers in Sapa, Vietnam
Part 1 of our Sapa Hmong Village Trip.
We went trekking with our Hmong tour guide around the mountains of Sapa. It is one of the beautiful places that you have to visit in Vietnam. The view is really breathtaking! The best time to visit is in July & August when the rice patties are about to be harvest!
Interesting fact about the Hmong Community in Sapa:
1. The government does not allow families to have more than two children.
2. They do not ball toss during New Years
3. Some families only farm enough to eat for the year. If they are short on food, they'll have to exchange labor for food.
4. Water Buffalos are only used to help plow farms. They will not get butchered for food unless a family member has passed away.
5. Bride Kidnapping is still a thing, but it has stopped for a while. You'll get sued if caught by the government.
We will cover all the details about Hmong in Sapa during our next video. Stay Tuned.
TREKKING IN SAPA, VIETNAM (VLOG | 25)
Sapa has got to be one of the more beautiful places we have ever been. The sheer beauty of this amazing place is breathtaking. We did a 1 day trek and although it was tough conditions (rainy, muddy, and very wet) it was such an awesome time! Sapa has been one of my favorite places I have been in Asia. Cannot wait to go back.

Best Hmong Homestay in Sapa, Vietnam! (Zizi's Homestay)
This is part 2 of our Sapa trip.
I have to say this is one of the best homestays that we've been to so far. If you really want to experience local authentic food and culture then this is probably your best bet. Enjoy this video! I tried my best to put subtitles. It was pretty complicated because of their dialect.

VIETNAM VLOG 1: Trekking and Homestay in SaPa, Vietnam
This is part 1 of Tea in Vietnam. I share my experience Traveling to Sapa Vietnam and share my stories from my 2 day trek and home stay.
SAPA - Vietnam (S02|E02)
Two days and one night (homestay) in the rice fields of Sapa. Great experience, expecially thanks to my personal guide: Shosho :)
I do hope this video will reach a lot of people so that she will have more customers and be able to save money and realize her dream of travel outside Vietnam :)
Here are the details of her tour, worth every single penny!
--------------------------------------
Hi Carlo, thank you for your message.
The tour will be 2 days and 1 night and I will take you on a trek to the villages. Meals included (1 breakfast, 2 lunch & 1 dinner) and sleep at a homestay!
We will eat lunch with my family on Day 1, my mum or sister in law cook for you, we see a lot of rice terraces, and the local Black Hmong people, we will also walk through a few villages and you will see how we live.
In the afternoon we can visit the Village school, dress up in traditional clothing and visit the various sites of the village.
In the evening you have the option of staying the night in my home or in a guesthouse with more utilities. The guesthouse has WiFi, big beds, mosquito nets, hot shower and provides a towel and flipflops.
My tour has a different price per person.
1 person = $27 USD per day
2 person = $22 USD /day /person
3+ person = $18 USD /day /person
You bring a small (day) backpack and not to heavy stuff, because we go for a long walk and you really don't want to carry heavy luggage! I advise to leave your big backpack/big bag in Hanoi at your hostel or hotel.
Its easy to take the night bus or the night train from Hanoi to Sapa too and let me know if you come by train or bus
When you in Sapa then you can go to eat breakfast. Somewhere in Sapa You can be at , hotel restaurant or any other place you prefere. We will pick you up on the church in Sapa because in Sapa have one church only and let me know what time do you want to start trek?
At the end of the tour I will provide you transport back to Sapa as well.
My number phone +841649496025 and i have whatsapp as well.
I am really looking forward having you and in case you have any questions, let me know!
Greetings,
Shosho Laochai

Hike to explore Ta Van Village (Dzay Tribe) | Trekking in Sapa, Vietnam Travel Video (Part 2)
After having lunch we set off on the second leg of our journey for the day en route to explore Ta Van Village (Dzay Tribe) in the mountainous region of Sapa, Vietnam. After a long hike in the morning lunch was anything but relaxing. The Black Hmong ladies who had followed us for the duration of our hike, making animals out of leaves, smiling and peppering us with questions and grinning from ear to ear suddenly changed their demeanor in complete 180 degrees. You buy from me. Then I go home. You don't buy one. Buy two. Buy from me. I made you horse.

Although I could see this coming a mile away, I still found it annoying. Although I appreciate these ladies depend on tourism to earn a living, I don't feel as though tourists should feel such extreme pressure to buy something. One particular gentleman at our table, who steadfastly refused to buy anything was harassed to point where he did eventually purchase a tiny trinket, just so that he could eat his lunch at peace.
When it comes to vendors, touts or service providers in the travel industry, I'm all about rewarding bad behavior and not giving in to the pressures of pressure tactics. For example, in this particular situation, the ladies realize that if they press hard enough they'll eventually annoy the heck out of tourist to the point they buy something. Compounded by the fact they're tired from the long hike, more likely than not, they'll be willing to pay a bit of money to have a quiet lunch.
Although lunch was bland, I was immediately thrilled that my stomach could handle the noodles, as just mere hours before I had still been suffering from a severe case of food poisoning.
The morning hike had tested my fitness levels and I had to push myself to the max to keep up with the rest of the group only being roughly around 70% of my normal self. My legs felt like jello at this point in the day and I couldn't believe we still had another significant portion to cover for the rest of the day. Mentally, I was preparing myself for what I felt I couldn't possibly physically accomplish.
Luckily, the second leg of the journey was both shorter and less physically demanding. Roughly speaking, I think we walked only 1/3 of the distance that we covered in the morning and there was less variability in the terrain on this portion of the hike.
When we finally reached Ta Van Village I felt a sense of relief knowing I could retire for the evening. Prior to dinner I spread all of my belongings out by my makeshift bed and napped for nearly two hours.
Our traditional home-stay was a basic wooden two story house which featured mats laid on the floor with a mosquito net covering them. I feel confident enough, that it wouldn't have mattered what the accommodations looked like for the majority of our group. We were all so tired from the hike we could have slept on top of a rock.
Although dead simple, in terms of style, I slept like a baby given how absolutely knackered I was from the trek. I knew that I needed a good sleep to be prepared for another go of it the next day:
