Tasked with including some local female winemakers as part of their brief, the Plonk crew kick off their NSW wine adventure just outside Canberra in the beautiful wine region of Murrumbateman.

Lovely morning out, the balloons headed south so I headed north up to the wineries to see about camera angles etc. Fun morning in the air.
Four Winds Vineyard winery project
Our cellar door is up and we have invested in more winemaking equipment, now we need your help to expand our winery!
We are excited about the coming season. The cellar door has been going really well and we have just invested in some new winery equipment, but we really need your help to ensure we have enough space in the winery to make enough wine. At the moment we are in the good (and bad) position as we have sold out of Sangiovese, we are not far off selling out of Riesling and we need to find space to ferment more red wine before next vintage. The solution has been to extend our existing winery to create more space to ferment red wines.
This will be a simple extension to the existing roofline of the winery, a larger pad of concrete for crushing and de-stemming the grapes and insulation to ensure that things don’t bake in the summer sun.
The epic battle of Waterloo Reenacted in Murrumbateman Australia
A documentary feature of Waterloo @ Murrumbateman hosted by Shaw Wines. Gold Trails Reenactments brought history to life with the Battle of Waterloo! Set within the beautiful Shaw Wines estate the event played host to Reenactors from across Australia and New Zealand to portray a pivotal point in the history of Europe and the world!
This event showcased the Battle and the life of soldiers in the Napoleonic era. The event also supported the local charity Yass Valley CanAssist.

We begin high in the air above Mudgee with Chris taking in the scenery aboard a Balloon Aloft hot air balloon. The Lowe Wines cellar door is then the setting for a dinner that immerses the PLONK crew in the local Mudgee wine scene with David Lowe leading a wine options game. Johnny Furlong from Two Furlongs Wines makes an appearance and offers to train Chris' palate.

With a second series miraculously commissioned and Chris reluctantly back on board, the team head to South Australia hoping things will run slightly smother than last year. Day one takes them to The Adelaide Hills and the wheels start to fall off almost immediately. Josh manages to exacerbate the budget, Chris offends Australia’s first Master of Wine, Michael Hill Smith and a short tempered Portuguese bodyguard threatens to derail the show before it even starts.
