Museum of Ancient Life, Lehi, Utah
One of my trips to the Museum of Ancient Life in Lehi, Utah. It took quite a few walks through the museum before I was finally able to memorize the names of the things there.
Thanksgiving Point Museum of Ancient Life
A walk through arguably one of the best Dinosaur Museums in the United States of America.

Museum of Ancient Life
The Museum of Ancient Life has the distinction of being the world's largest display of mounted dinosaurs. Not only will you meet our fierce prehistoric friends at the museum, though, you'll also become a part of their world. While you're weaving through the exhibits, chirps of insects and growls of ancient creatures greet you in each hall. Exhibits like the Erosion Table and the Fossil Dig give you an opportunity be a part of the science of paleontology. Needless to say, this is not an ordinary museum.

Dinosaurs (Greek δεινόσαυρος, deinosauros) were the dominant vertebrate animals of terrestrial ecosystems for over 160 million years, from the late Triassic period (about 230 million years ago) until the end of the Cretaceous period (65 million years ago), when most of them became extinct in the CretaceousTertiary extinction event. The 10,000 living species of birds have been classified as dinosaurs.
The 1861 discovery of the primitive bird Archaeopteryx first suggested a close relationship between dinosaurs and birds. Aside from the presence of fossilized feather impressions, Archaeopteryx was very similar to the contemporary small predatory dinosaur Compsognathus. Research has since identified theropod dinosaurs as the most likely direct ancestors of birds; most paleontologists today regard birds as the only surviving dinosaurs, and some suggest that dinosaurs and birds should be grouped into one biological class. Aside from birds, crocodilians are the only other close relatives of dinosaurs to have survived until the present day. Like dinosaurs and birds, crocodilians are members of Archosauria, a group of reptiles that first appeared in the very late Permian and came to predominate in the mid-Triassic.
Through the first half of the 20th century, most of the scientific community believed dinosaurs to have been slow, unintelligent cold-blooded animals. Most research conducted since the 1970s, however, has supported the view that dinosaurs were active animals with elevated metabolisms and numerous adaptations for social interaction. The resulting transformation in the scientific understanding of dinosaurs has gradually filtered into popular consciousness.
Since the first dinosaur fossils were recognized in the early nineteenth century, mounted dinosaur skeletons have become major attractions at museums around the world. Dinosaurs have become a part of world culture and remain consistently popular. They have been featured in best-selling books and films (notably Jurassic Park), and new discoveries are regularly covered by the media.
The term dinosaur was coined in 1842 by Sir Richard Owen and derives from Greek δεινός (deinos) terrible, powerful, wondrous + σαῦρος (sauros) lizard. It is sometimes used informally to describe other prehistoric reptiles, such as the pelycosaur Dimetrodon, the winged pterosaurs, and the aquatic ichthyosaurs, plesiosaurs and mosasaurs, although none of these animals were dinosaurs.

Short highlights video of a visit to the Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah, in June 2012. Great museum! It's a visual feast with lots of hands-on activities. Highly recommend.
Note to parents: We arrived at Thanksgiving Point in the afternoon on a warm summer day. Our experience at the museum was enhanced by some of the delicious soft serve ice cream at the Thanksgiving Point Ice Cream Shop.
The American Museum of Ancient History
I took the little princess up to visit the American Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point. She absolutely adored all of the dinosaurs, bones, and fossils. There were so many activities that were perfect for children her age, like putting together dinosaur bone puzzles and finding fossils with little shovels. It was so cute and so much fun! All of the exhibits were amazing! Huge rooms filled with full skeletons! It was intense! She loved every minute and was begging to go back the very next day, so if you get a chance, make sure you stop here for a visit!

Huge Dinosars at the Musem of Ancient Life
we went to The Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi Utah. It was a great activity for the whole family. They have so many hands on Kid exhibits and so many HUGE dinosaurs. We went on two dollar Tuesday and the crowd wasn't bad at all. It took us about 2 hrs to go trough the museum but I feel like we could have been there much longer if the kids had let us adults take time to read things. I feel like all the museums at Thanksgiving point are essential for any Utah Vacation
Sometimes life can be hard with little kids and a husband in the United States Air Force. I for one am going to focus on all the bits of life that make my heart full of joy.

Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point, in Lehi (near Provo), Utah - February 2, 2013
At the North American Museum of Ancient Life, in Lehi (near Provo), Utah (AKA the Provo Dinosaur Museum), they have a lot of nice exhibits. But one key thing missing is any mention that humans evolved. No mention of any other homo species, such as neanderthals. What's up with that? So yes the place is nice & pretty, but they aren't telling the full story with the glaring omission of human evolution. Zero mention in the place - from what we saw.
February 2nd, 2013 visit.
More info on human evolution:
Perhaps one additional reason they don't want to delve into the topic is that DNA science proves the Book of Mormon is a lie.
More info on that issue - from Dr. Simon Southerton - a dna scientist and former Mormon bishop:
A talk by Dr. Southerton to at an Exmormon Foundation conference:

The amazing discovery of the ancient tomb of Cacique Malchia began when Marcos Montezuma (a young Ngäbe man) was digging a “pozo” (water well) on a hill and hit a carved rock in a shape of a rectangle slab. As he hit the rock slab with his pick it made an empty echo sound.
At first Mr. Montezuma thought he hit an old septic tank. He then used his pick to pry open and lift up the rock slab to expose what was underneath and to his amazement he found the tomb of Cacique Malchia.Mr. Montezuma went into the tomb to find ancient relics including ceramic pots filled with animal skins wrapped up with ancient writings and hieroglyphs and gold pieces including a wooden chest gilded covered in gold next to the mummified Cacique El Quibían Malchia.
After Mr. Montezuma told his friends and family of his discovery and he reported to the authorities. The tomb of Cacique El Quibían Malchia is in a cave that was sealed at both ends with rocks and mud. Today the two ends of the cave are opened and tourists can enter the tomb of Cacique Malchia to discover the hidden mysteries and treasures of an ancient pre-Columbian lost civilization.
The hidden mysteries in the tomb of the mummified Cacique El Quibían Malchia located high up at an altitude of 1,200 metres (3,900 ft), in the mountains of Bugaba in the province of Chiriquí, Panamá.When the ancient Panamanian “Tomb 13” was discovered inside the tomb was the sarcophagus of a pre-Colombian King with the name of Malchia. The archeologists discovered in the excavation of Tomb 13 other parchments made from jaguar hide and the skins of Alpacas. After the death of the King Malchiah he was then prepared in an ancient Hebrew ritual of embalming and mummification of his body. In the sacred burial site the you can walk through the tomb (cave) there are still many items inside the cave ancient pre-colombian relics.

Rod L. Meldrum is a researcher, best-selling LDS author, and international lecturer on the validity of the Book of Mormon with an emphasis on its scriptural and physical evidences. His book titled, “Exploring the Book of Mormon in America’s Heartland” is the #1 LDS Book about Book of Mormon geography with over 40,000 printed.
Mr. Meldrum has now combined this best-selling LDS book on geography, with the complete text of the Book of Mormon, making this new volume an inspiring book to own! Exciting new archaeology and information is being discovered regularly. Rod and his co-editor David R. Hocking have now compiled a fantastic new book called “Annotated Edition of the Book of Mormon”. The first printing of 5,000 was sold quickly in September of 2018. A new printing of 10,000 will be delivered in December 2018. In this 600-page volume is the entire text of the Book of Mormon (1920 Version) and interspersed throughout are evidences, artifacts, pictures, maps and prophetic statements about the “Most correct book”, even the Book of Mormon.
He has also written a book titled “Prophecies and Promises; The Book of Mormon and the USA.” This book outlines the 36 Prophecies and Promises that clearly identify the United States as the location of the ‘Promised Land’ of the Latter-days. It has been called a “stunning” new insight on geography research and provides historical evidence that documents containing Joseph Smith’s words, writings, and actions were consistent with the prophecies & promises of the Book of Mormon. He also served for seven years as the senior scientific researcher on the book titled, “Universal Model” by Dean Sessions, a natural sciences textbook. The first volume of over 800 pages was printed in April 2017 and volume two will be printed soon with volume three to follow. It’s over 2,500 pages of “New Millennial Science.”
He began his study of issues surrounding the controversy over DNA and the Book of Mormon in 2003 which led to a study of the origins of proposed geographical settings of the Book of Mormon. In addition, he has spent years of intensive study of the Book of Mormon itself and the historical background and documents associated with it.
Mr. Meldrum has given several hundred presentations across the United States, Canada and internationally and has shared his research and findings in support of the Book of Mormon and the gospel of Jesus Christ with hundreds of thousands of members and non-members alike. Mr. Meldrum has been conducting tours to the Heartland of America since 2010, educating guests at museums, sacred native American sites, and other archaeological sites dating to the time period of the Book of Mormon.
He founded his organization, The FIRM Foundation (Foundation for Indigenous Research and Mormonism), in 2008 which today comprises ten boards with more than 200 board members and over 40,000 LDS newsletter recipients. The FIRM Foundation sponsors two International Book of Mormon Evidence Expos and Conferences annually with additional regional conferences and events throughout the country and around the world bringing together dozens of the top LDS speakers for thousands of Latter-day Saints and others.
Mr. Meldrum’s research has blessed and enhanced the lives of thousands and increased their faith in the divine authenticity of the Book of Mormon, the prophetic role of the Prophet Joseph Smith, and a renewed understanding of the sacred covenants with God on His Promised Lands.
He and his wife, Tonya, are the parents of four children. He is a fifth-generation active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served a mission in Milan, Italy, has served faithfully in many church leadership callings, and currently lives in Provo, Utah.

Features presented by this monumental discovery that appears on the cover of National Geographic make some people, including the archaeologist Julia Mayo, consider that legendary “El Dorado” put in writing in Spanish chronicles, has been found in Coclé. This is the place where the Iberians claimed that there were chieftains who were bathed in gold.
