From Wikipedia: National Museums Scotland was formed by Act of Parliament in 1985, amalgamating the former National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland and The Royal Scottish Museum. The National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh, Scotland, was formed in 2006 with the merger of the new Museum of Scotland, with collections relating to Scottish antiquities, culture and history, and the adjacent Royal Museum (so renamed in 1995), with collections covering science and technology, natural history, and world cultures. The two connected buildings stand beside each other on Chambers Street, by the intersection with the George IV Bridge, in central Edinburgh. The museum is part of National Museums Scotland. Admission is free.

Edinburgh's Royal Mile - History, Museums, Pubs, Shops and More!
With history, museums, pubs, restaurants, shops and more, Edinburgh's Royal Mile is a must-do in Scotland. It is easily in any Top Ten list for Scotland and Edinburgh. Starting at Edinburgh Castle, you pass hundreds of years of history, from churches like St Giles Cathedral where John Knox preached to The World's End where the walled city of Edinburgh and it's residents worlds ended and the Cannongate Kirkyard with the grave of Adam Smith (amongst others). Continuing down the mile, it also includes modern history like the relatively new Scottish Parliament, until you reach the Queen's residence in Edinburgh, The Palace of Holyrood House, or Holyrood Palace. Overlooking all of this is the extinct volcano Arthur's Seat. With shops, pubs, restaurants and the former of home of V herself, the Royal Mile has something to interest everyone. The museums are must-dos, with The Museum of Childhood taking everyone back to their childhood, The Museum of Edinburgh, The John Knox House and The People's Story, to name a few.
If you're visiting Edinburgh, Scotland, the Royal Mile is a great place to start your adventure!

V&A Museum Of Childhood, London
V&A museum of childhood was founded in 1872, but in the 1920s, it began to focus on services for children and it has the largest collection of childhood objects in the United Kingdom. Its collection range from 5,000 years of art, from ancient times to the present day from all over the world and many different cultures. Very interesting museum and suitable for children and adult
