MCAD Origins
Ten years ago, De La Salle College of Saint Benilde set up and launched MCAD. A space not just for students but also a wider public of creatives.
Designed to be an integral part of the Benilde student experience, members of the Museum’s Master Planning Team, Br Edmundo Fernandez FSC, Joey Yupangco, Marian Pastor Roces and Ed Calma reflect on their memories and visions of setting up the Museum.

Soil and Stones, Souls and Songs — Teaser
This major traveling and transforming exhibition presented by Kadist, the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD) in Manila, and Para Site, and curated by Cosmin Costinas and Inti Guerrero is based on several intertwined lines of tension and narratives found today in the realities, artistic and cultural production, and contemporary thought in the Asian sphere and beyond. It is constructed on a spectre of art practices, new commissions, works from the Kadist collection, cases studies curated by Yongwoo Lee, Qu Chang, and Simon Soon, and experiments on forms and processes addressing, directly or symbolically, several broad categories of issues. These can all be traced to the seismic forces that have transformed the world over the past decades, with Asia being at the forefront of these changes.

The Surface of the World: Architecture and the Moving Image — Exhibition Walkthrough
This is an exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design in Manila, Philippines in 2014.
The exhibition, curated by Clare Carolin, former curator at the ModernArt Oxford, the National Touring Exhibitions, and Hayward Gallery, London, brings together the fields of architecture and film for the first time under one roof, giving students and the general public a great opportunity to study the range of technology in both fields and to see its ever-widening influence in society. The exhibition featured artworks that are all video-based, working within the idea of the moving image, and investigates a range of practices from video works and installations to that of shorts and full-length films.
