A Walk Through The Museum of Tolerance, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles
The original museum in Los Angeles, California opened in 1993, built at a cost of $50 million by the Simon Wiesenthal Center, named after Simon Wiesenthal, Holocaust survivor. The museum receives 350,000 visitors annually, about a third of which are school-age children. The museum's most talked-about exhibit is The Holocaust Section, where visitors are divided into groups to take their own place in some of the events of World War II. These experiences are then discussed afterwards. The museum also features testimonies of Holocaust survivors, often from live volunteers who tell their stories and answer questions. People also get cards with pictures of Jewish children on them and at the end of the museum trip, it is revealed whether the child on the card survived or died in the Holocaust.

In addition, the museum features a Tolerancenter that discusses issues of prejudice in everyday life, a Multimedia Learning Center, Finding Our Families – Finding Ourselves, a collection of archives and documents, various temporary exhibits such as Los Angeles visual artist Bill Cormalis Jr's A Game In The B Leagues, which documents through paintings, the Civil Rights movement during the segregation of colored people in Major League Baseball, and an Arts and Lectures Program.

STORYLINE:
California Govenor Arnold Schwarzenegger met Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on Sunday.
Schwarzenegger was also attending the groundbreaking of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre's Museum of Tolerance during his first trip abroad as
governor.
Schwarzenegger has said that a history of prejudice in his native country of Austria prompted him to attend the ceremony for the Wiesenthal
Centre, an international human rights group based in Los Angeles.
Schwarzenegger has given the centre one (m) million US dollars.
The governor's father was a member of the Nazi party, but the actor-turned-politician has always sought to distance himself from that part of his Austrian background.
Schwarzenegger has also said he wants to help promote business relations between California and Israel.
Schwarzenegger first visited Israel in the 1970s.
Schwarzenegger has also scheduled a surprise detour to Jordan after being criticized by Arab-Americans back home for snubbing Palestinians during his trip.
The governor was to fly by helicopter to Jordan on Monday for a private lunch with King Abdullah II, a personal friend who has visited his Brentwood
home.

Anne - New exhibit at the Museum of Tolerance, Los Angeles
Anne, is an extraordinary new exhibit created by the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Museum of Tolerance on the life and legacy of Anne Frank.
Almost everyone thinks they know Anne's story. It is often referred to as a window to the Holocaust because it makes tangible the inconceivable nature of the systematic murder of six million Jews.
The circumstances of Anne and her family were not unusual. Anne was one of a million and a half Jewish children who were murdered during the Nazi Holocaust simply because they were Jewish. But, the legacy of her diaries and essays is the ultimate lesson to confront anti-Semitism, fight hate, and speak up against persecution in the world today.
The Anne Frank Fonds of Basel, Switzerland, a strategic partner and supporter of the exhibition said, This is the most important exhibition about Anne Frank. For the first time the history of the Jewish family is, with context and a meaningful educational approach, comprehensively conveyed through Anne Frank's works.
The Anne Frank Fonds Basel was founded by Otto Frank in 1963 as universal heir and owner of the estate.

SOUNDBITE (English) Arnold Schwarzenegger, Governor of California:
It''s great to be back here, it''s the first time now as governor and it''s great because this is my first foreign visit and I choose the country of Israel, so it''s great because I came here for two reasons and one of them is a groundbreaking ceremony tomorrow for the Museum of Tolerance which is going to be an extraordinary experience to me. I myself have been involved with this for the last 20 years simply because I come from a country (Austria) where we''ve seen a story of prejudice that resulted in terrible atrocities, so I always made the commitment that I wanted to go around the world to promote tolerance, inclusion and to fight prejudice. So, it''s very important to me. But at the same time, since I was already in Israel, I said to myself, since I''m here as governor, I should also drum up some business for California and of course also for your country. This is why we organised here this trade mission. And it''s great to be here today with so many Israeli companies and venture capitalists and also those from the US and California.

STORYLINE:
California Govenor Arnold Schwarzenegger opened his Middle East visit on Saturday by announcing job-growth ventures with
several Israeli companies and scheduling a surprise detour to Jordan after being criticised for snubbing Palestinians during his trip.
The celebrity governor''s first foreign sojourn since taking office was anchored by a speech he was to give on Sunday at the site of a planned tolerance museum in Jerusalem.
It''s great to be here, Schwarzenegger said to a roomful of Israeli businessmen at an evening reception, adding that he will be a salesman for California economic interests.
He announced five agreements with Israeli companies to expand or create business in the state to help California''s struggling economy. One deal with SANRAD, a high-tech firm that will move its world headquarters to Alameda, Calif., bringing a projected 300 jobs.
Schwarzenegger also said that he was in Israel to fulfill his commitment go around the world to promote tolerance, inclusion and to fight prejudice.
On Sunday, Schwarzenegger was to attend groundbreaking for the Simon Wiesenthal Centre museum of tolerance and meet with Israeli government leaders, including Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
Schwarzenegger has a long-standing relationship with the Los Angeles-based Wiesenthal centre, one of the largest international Jewish human rights organisations.
He has given the group more than 1 (m) million US dollars.

Los Angeles Museum Of The Holocaust
The Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust (LAMOTH) is a museum in Pan Pacific Park, within the Fairfax District of Los Angeles, California
It is dedicated to the remembrance and preservation of the history, stories, victims, and tragic events of the Holocaust during World War II. Founded in 1961, the museum is purported to be the oldest museum of its kind in the United States.
LAMOTH is always free for visitors and students, because the founding survivors insisted that no one ever be turned away from learning about the Holocaust.
In 1961, a group of survivors at Hollywood High School taking English as a second language classes found one another and shared their experiences. They discovered that each of them had a photograph, concentration camp uniform, or other precious primary source object from the Holocaust era. They decided that these artifacts needed a permanent home where they could be displayed safely and in perpetuity. They also wanted a place to memorialize their dead and help to educate the world so that no one would ever forget. Some of these founding survivors remain active on the LAMOTH Board of Directors today.
