Музей Второй мировой войны в Гданьске — место обязательное к посещению, даже если вы не любитель музеев. В нем прочувствуете масштаб трагедии так, что задрожит каждая клеточка тела.
Музей открыли в марте 2017 года. Его проект задумывался и обдумывался около 10 лет, а само строительство в Гданьске символично — город был атакован в первые дни войны.
Постоянно действующая экспозиция на тему Второй мировой войны занимает 5 000 кв.м.
Масштабы экспозиции захватывают: тут выстроена довоенная улица Гданьска, и она же после бомбежки; танк в груде кирпичей и вагон, которым пленных отправляли в концлагеря.
Все сделано так, чтобы каждый мог почувствовать и увидеть трагедию Второй мировой войны глазами обычного человека.
Отдельный респект Музею (и полякам) за то, что взгляд на войну универсальный, со всех сторон, а не сквозь призму восприятия трагедии отдельного народа.
На момент посещения цена билета: 20 злотых/150 грн/366 руб
Есть аудиогид на русском, украинском и др. языках.

At the Museum of the Second World War in Gdansk, Poland, it is attempted to answer the question: How do you teach war to children?
An uneasy question to be sure, though one which needs to be answered. Inside Poland's national WWII museum, the children's exhibit, Time Travel is a permanent four-room display. Designed to show the physical effects of war over a prolonged period, guests begin in a school and then proceed through the same living room of one house at three times when, by the end of World War Two, the house is barely recognizable.
Matt receives a private tour to learn how and why this children's exhibit is an effective teaching tool of history.

We also went to the World War 2 Museum in Gdańsk - an emotional and educational experience at the end of our first trip to Gdańsk.
