Myndos Gate in Bodrum is one of the major city gates of ancient Halicarnassus. It was built by satrap Mausolos who also contructed the Mausoluem, one of the Seven wonders of the ancient world. Myndos Gate is famous because of the famous siege of Alexander the Great who captured the city after a long siege.

Göktepe’de, Bodrum – Turgutreis yolu üzerinde yer alan Antik Tiyatro, Halikarnassos’tan günümüze kalan en önemli yapılardan biridir. Tiyatro, Antik çağ geleneklerine uygun biçimde üç ana bölümden oluşuyor. Skene (sahne binası), Orkestra (yarım yuvarlak) ve Kavca (oturma kademeleri). Oturma kademeleri yumuşak kayalardan oyularak yamaca inşa edilen tiyatro, 53 sıralı ve 13.000 kişilik kapasiteye sahip.

Bodrum Antik Tiyatrosu, Muğla’nın Bodrum ilçesine bağlı Yeniköy Mahallesinde bulunur. Diğer bir deyişle Bodrum merkezinde Göktepe Dağının eteklerinde yer alır.
Bodrum merkeze geldikten sonra aracınız varsa Turgutreis cadesini takip ederek bulabilirsiniz. Bodrum otogardan o güzergahı kullanan minibüslerle gidebilirsiniz.

About Bodrum Antique Theater
The Antique Theater, located on the Bodrum - Turgutreis road in Göktepe, is one of the most important buildings of Halicarnassus. The theater is made up of the main sections that make the antiquity suitable. Skene (stage building), Orchestra (half round) and Kavca (seating stages). The theater, which has been engineered on the hills, carved from soft rocks, has 53 rows and has a capacity of 13.000 people.

Bodrum Antique Theater was found in Yeniköy neighborhood of Bodrum district of Muğla. It is located at the foot of the Göktepe Mountain in Bodrum.
If you have a car after coming to the center of Bodrum, you can follow Turgutreis. You can go from the bus station with the minibuses that use the basement bus station.
Hours of visiting the ancient theater
09.00-19.00 in the summer season
Between 08.00 and 17.00 during the winter season
Closed for visit on Monday.

Halicarnassus was an ancient Greek city at the site of modern Bodrum in Turkey. It was located in southwest Caria on a picturesque, advantageous site on the Ceramic Gulf. The city was famous for the tomb of Mausolus, the origin of the word mausoleum, built between 353 BC and 350 BC, and one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. It was part of the Persian Empire until captured by Alexander the Great at the siege of Halicarnassus in 334 BC.

The Ancient City of Myndos
Modern day Gumusluk is rich with archaeological remains. Sitting on the site of the ancient Carian city of Mydos, the place to where, in 44BC, Brutus and Cassius fled after murdering the Emperor Caesar, Gumusluk it is one of the oldest settlements in south-west Turkey.

Pedesa Ancient City, Bodrum, Turkey
Pedasa was in the Caria Region of Western Anatolia first inhabited as early as 3000 BC by the indigenous populations of Leleg and Carian. “More than 20 ancient cities inhabited by Carians and Lelegs still bear witness to the glorious past of the region.” Homer wrote about Mausoleus King of Lelegs in the Iliad which details events that took place during the 10th year of the Trojan War. The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus was erected in honor of Mausolus.
