【アートの旅】美術館編となります。
鹿児島市武にある『長島美術館』に
訪れて撮影させていただきました＾＾
収蔵美術品は長島企業グループ創立者長島公佑さんが
永年にわたり蒐集したもので
鹿児島にゆかりのある作家の作品（黒田清輝・和田英作・藤島武二、中村晋也、竹道久など）や
工芸品（白薩摩焼や黒薩摩焼など）
ロダンをはじめ、海外作家の作品（オーギュスト・ルノアールやマリー・ローランサン、ユトリロなど）、
ガラス工芸品（エミール・ガレやドーム兄弟）、
アンデスの先史美術品など
素晴らしい作品がたくさん所蔵されています。(動画内でアンデス地方と言っておりますが、アンデス文明の先史美術品です！)
※テロップにある所蔵作家は一部で2019年9月上旬時点で
展示されていた作家名になります。

鹿児島市武にある『長島美術館』に
訪れて、そこから見える
噴火する桜島と海のある美しい景色を
絵に描いてみました。
久しぶりに桜島を描きましたが
やはり活火山のある生活というのは未だに不思議です 笑
今回はそんな鹿児島にいないと感じられない
火山があるこのエネルギッシュな空気感を
絵で表現できたらと思います。
今回はあかしやの彩（SAI）という水彩筆ペンを使って
描いています。
さすが日本の筆メーカー。
繊細なタッチが出しやすい上に
色味が多彩で日本の風景を描くには大変おすすめです。

Manhole covers are trending high in Japan and for good reason -- they're stunning! Only in Japan are manholes to cover sewage designed so beautifully that they now make MANHOLE TRADING CARDS! (Travel around Japan and collect them all. They're free!) The craze is real, folks.
There's even a new word for manhole enthusiasts: MANHOLERS
In this episode, John travels around the country as a manholer in search of Japan's best designs. He also visits Nagashima Imono Casting Factory where manhole covers are made and finds out why they have designs and are painted. He also visits the Manhole Summit for the latest news and designs.
FACTS ABOUT JAPANESE MANHOLE COVERS:
★ They were a way after WWII (World War 2) for Japan to spread the importance of its new sewer system project.
★ Okinawa (Naha city) was the first designed manhole in 1977. It had fish on it.
★ Now 95 % of all municipalities in Japan have customized manhole covers.
★ There are over 12,000 designs around Japan!
★ Manhole covers are sometimes painted for commemorative covers or for inside areas without vehicles like shopping arcades and parks. The paint used is a top secret mixture.
★ Designs represent local culture, history, mascots or sports teams: things citizens are proud of.
About Manhole Cards:
The cards are free and you have to physically go to each location to get one. It's first come, first serve.

【アートの旅】美術館編となります。
今回は鹿児島市城山町にある『鹿児島市立美術館』に行ってきました。
ご協力くださった鹿児島市立美術館関係者の皆様、本当にありがとうございました。
1954年9月に鶴丸城二の丸跡地に地域の芸術文化の振興に貢献するような
歴史資料館としての顔を併せ持つ美術館として開館しました。
その後、多様化する美術活動と市民の要望に対応するため、
1985年10月29日に現在の建物へと建て替えられ、新装開館されました。
常設展示室から、美術館のトレードマークでもあるこの天井のドームの薩摩切子柄のデザインまで撮影させていただいております！

Arashiyama is a district northwest of Kyoto.
We had arrived in town to ride the Sagano Scenic train.
The area has been a popular destination dating back to 794.
The town has many temples and period buildings also worth visiting is the Bamboo Groves.
The Sagano Scenic Railway it is also known as the Sagano Romantic Train.
It only runs for seven kilometres but the track twists and turns as it follows the Hozu River to nearby town of Kameoka.

Chotto: a Moment in Japan is a short video about the pace and rhythm of life in Japan. No doubt that Japan is the most technologically advanced nation in Asia and maybe the whole world, but the Japanese still maintain their culture, traditions, and beliefs. They are very courteous, respectful, and mindful of other people.
Chotto: A Moment in Japan was filmed primarily in the Kyoto area, as well as in several other locations in Tokyo, Osaka, Nara and Nagoya.
The footages were taken during the spring season, April 2013, and need 10 days to capture it.

We stayed at Harazuru onsen in Fukuoka for one night.
Japan ancient pot of Yayoi Era excavation exhibited at Kagoshima University
Japanese Ancient Ceramics Pots
These ceramics were made during Yayoi Period.
Yayoi period dates back to around BC 300 - AD 300.
Those ceramic pots were all excavated in Kagoshima Prefecture.
They are exhibited at Kagoshima University.
During Yayoi period, Japanese people started to cultivate rice.
Ancient Japanese maybe harvested rice and put it on these ceramic pots.
Kagoshima Univerisity has its own museum for excavated items.
