Adirondack Winery Movin' on Up with New Equipment!
This was an exciting day for us at Adirondack Winery! Thanks to all our wine lovers across New York and beyond, Adirondack Winery is outgrowing its equipment! Your love for wines like Strawsling, Amethyst Sunset, Prospect Mountain White, Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio has created the need for us to bring in New, massive stainless steel tanks! Each of the 5 tanks you see has the capacity to hold about 1,000 gallons, which equates to about 5,000 bottles of wine! We needed a bigger filter to process all this wine, too of course! So, good luck to Mike and Brad as they venture into the next step of our slow growth into the Minor Leagues of wineries!

Cambria Co. winery opens up for business with international recognition
By: Melanie Gillespie
FLINTON, Pa. -- It's a quaint winery in a small town in Cambria County that you probably never knew existed unless you passed by.
It sits off of Route 53 near Prince Gallitzin State Park.
Hundreds of bottles of concord, honey mead, and fruity wines line the shelves of this small, home-made winery.
Glendale Valley Winery in Flinton was opened up by the Dixons in November of last year with some help from a local industrial development group. It took about three years to start up and about 25 years of wine-making in the bottle.
I just enjoyed the process and I gave it away. I gave a lot of wine away. And after a while I was making close to 150 gallons away a year and I thought, I should be selling this commercially, owner Donald Dixon said.
Dixon put his honey recipes to the test. He swept local amateur competitions and took home medals at nationals, and won gold and silver at an international competition for his home-brewed wine.
Dixon said, The big wins have been with the honey wines and I figured I could sell them commercially, and we're doing just fine.
Dixon proudly hangs his medals from the wall inside his winery.
He hopes to open more stores down the road and hopes to turn the wine sales into a career.
We're hoping by the end of the year to both be done with our other jobs... But we're hoping we can run this full time, Dixon said.
Glendale Valley Winery is appearing in some upcoming festivals like Tyrone's Wine Walk and Potato Fest in Ebensburg.
The winery is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
