Wind tunnel testing of Debrecen Football Stadium - A Nagyerdei Stadion a szélcsatornában
Theodore von Kármán Wind Tunnel Lab performed the wind tunnel tests of the planned UEFA Category 4 Football Stadium to be built in Debrecen, Hungary. Wind loading was determined on the roof structure using multiple pressure measurements on the 1:150 scale wind tunnel model. Wind comfort at the seats and ventilation of the grass at the football field was another important issue. These were investigated using CTA measurements.

A Debrecenben tervezett UEFA 4. kategóriájú Nagyerdei Stadion szélcsatornaméréseit laboratóriumunk végezte. Meghatároztuk a szélterhelést a nagy kiterjedésű tetőszerkezeten az 1:150 léptékű szélcsatorna modell tetőfelületén elhelyezett nyomásmérő pontok segítségével. Egy másik fontos kérdés a szélkomfort volt a nézőtéren illetve a pályafű szellőzése. Ehhez hődrót-anemométeres (CTA) méréseket végeztünk a stadionmodell különböző pontjain.

A multifunkcionális csarnok befogadóképessége koncertek esetében kb. 8500 fő, sportrendezvények esetében kb. 6500 fő. A létesítmény 2002-ben a Tornász Világbajnoksággal nyitotta meg azt a „sort”, amelyben Kézilabda Európabajnokság(ok), Kosárlabda EB, Gyorskorcsolya VB, de még Kendo Európa-bajnokság is szerepelt (a teljesség igénye nélkül). De a művészvilág olyan világsztárjai is megfordultak már a csarnokban, mint Bryan Adams, Joe Cocker, David Copperfield, Lenny Kravitz vagy az Iron Maiden.
The multi-purpose event hall can seat about 8500 people at concerts, and approximately 6500 people at sport
events. It was the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships that launced the series of events which has involved ever since European Handball Championships, European Basketball Championships, World Short Track Speed Skating Championships and even a European Kendo Championship not being exhaustive. In addition world famous stars, such as Bryan Adams, Joe Cocker and David Copperfield have also performed in the Főnix Hall.
