The Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) is an annual film festival held in Kolkata, India. Founded in 1995, it is the second oldest international film festival in India. The 19th Kolkata International Film Festival will be held 10 to 17 November 2013. The festival is organized by the West Bengal Film Centre under the West Bengal Government.
The Government of West Bengal created Nandan the West Bengal Film Centre in 1985. The centre was inaugurated by Satyajit Ray. From the moment of its foundation the Kolkatan film buffs demanded their own film festival.
In 1995, Nandan organized its first ever independent film festival. Within a couple of years it was recognized by FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers' Associations -- Paris), the international authority of film festivals.
The 19th Annual Kolkata Film Festival was held on 10 to 17 November 2013. The Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) is an annual film festival held in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The 19th KIFF,was inaugurated by Mr.Amitabh Bachchan on November 10 and was attended by a number of luminaries, including Shah Rukh Khan - also the state's brand ambassador as well as actor Kamal Hassan in the presence of Mamata Banerjee who is the current Chief Minister of West Bengal.

Nandan West Bengal Film Centre in Kolkata.
Nandan is a government-sponsored film and cultural centre in Kolkata, India.[2] The primary aim of the cultural hub is to encourage and facilitate cinematic awareness in society. It includes a few comparatively large screens housed in an impressively architectured building.
The foundation stone of Nandan was laid by former Chief Minister of West Bengal Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and was officially inaugurated on 2 September 1985 by film-maker Satyajit Ray. The complex, besides being a modern cinema and cultural complex, is a popular destination for the young and the aged alike.
Nandan is one of the main venues of the Kolkata International Film Festival, hosting it till 2010.In 2011 the ceremony was shifted to Netaji Indoor Stadium.

The foundation stone of Nandan was laid by former Chief Minister of West Bengal Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee in 1980[3] and it was inaugurated by Satyajit Ray in 1985.[4] He designed the now-famous logo for the complex as well.[5] Initially, Nandan had two auditoriums, a third auditorium was made soon after.[6]
Rabindra Sadan :
The foundation stone of Rabindra Sadan was laid by the then Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru on 5 August 1961. The construction work of the auditorium ended in October 1967.[2] It is noted for its large stage which is a prime venue for Bengali theatre and Kolkata Film Festival.
