AWESOME Deer Park in Japan | Nara Park. Today we visit Nara Park in Nara Japan. Over 1,200 wild sika deer (シカ or 鹿 shika) freely roam around the park. Most of them are very friendly and will take biscuits from you. Some though get a little wild! Thanks for watching!

Nara Street Food Guide w/ Extra Mochi
STREET FOOD! We’re back for more in one of Japan’s most traditional cities, Nara.
What was once Japan’s capitol is now a place loaded with delicious street food for humans and deer alike. So, what’s Nara got to offer? I hope you're hungry!
★ YAKI IMO / Grilled Sweet Potato / 200 yen per 100g
★ YOMOGI MOCHI / green mowort mochi filled with azuki beans, slightly bitter, slightly sweet / 130 yen each
★ KAKI NO HA SUSHI / sushi wrapped in permission leaves 1000 to 15000 yen for 8 to 12
★ DORAYAKI / pancakes filled with azuki red bean paste / 600 yen for a large one
★ DEER RICE CRACKCERS / shika senbei that they love to eat / 150 yen per pack
★ SHIKA NO FUN (Deer Poop) / chocolate covered peanuts or soy beans / 350 yen per bag
★ SOFT SERVED ICE CREAM / 350 yen each
Probably the most famous street food is mochi prepared by Nakatanido, a hundred meters behind the Kintetsu Nara Station. The mochi making performace where Nakatani-san opens the shop window and pounds the mochi at lightning speed takes place a few times a day.
Stop by and ask about performance times because you don’t want to miss it. It’s served right after and it’s absolutely the best mochi in Kansai. I went at 11:30am.
Note that the deer are wild animals and although they’re mostly friendly, they will bite, charge and bump tourists. Please be careful especially with children.
Nara is an easy train ride from Osaka or Kyoto and worth a day trip or longer if you like hiking and trekking around nature to see temples and shrines. Perfect when the weather is clear.

APRIL 13, 2018—This is our first YouTube video after an almost 3-month hiatus. Some of our followers actually messaged me to ask why I haven't been updating new videos.
Well folks we're now back. As to why the long break, the short answer is technical issues with my laptop and my video editing software (Final Cut Pro). It's a long and complicated story which annoyed me greatly so I won't bore you with the details. Suffice to say that everything's back to normal now so I hope to get back to regularly uploading videos to this channel soon (hopefully).
For this come-back video we feature our short visit to the famous Nara Park in the Kansai region of Japan. It is the second stop in our Kyoto-Nara-Kobe Day Tour from Osaka.
Nara Park is, of course, famous for its 1,000+ free-roaming deers.
This is a short video presentation of our visit at Nara Park, with particular focus on our very close and personal encounter with many of the free-roaming deers inside the park. Enjoy watching.

Things to Do in Nara : Day Trip Travel Guide
In our trip to Japan we took a day trip to Nara which is home to the amazing deer park where thousands of Deer roam freely. But Nara is more than just a place for dear, it is home to authentic traditional mochi made by a master, and beautiful scenery and Japanese history.
It's one of the most interesting places to visit in Japan, and who wouldn't like getting up close to so many deer!
Feeding deer in Nara Park, Japan
Nara Park is a large park in central Nara where deer roam freely.
The deer are really cute and you can easily buy crackers from street vendors to feed them to the deer.
Nara can be reached easily from Kyoto and Osaka, however there are no direct railroad routes to Nara from Tokyo. Visitors have to travel to Kyoto or Osaka, and switch trains from there.
From Osaka and Kyoto, there are two routes to Nara – via the limited express of Kintetsu Railway or using the local trains of JR Nara Line.
