Nashestvie is one of the largest open-air festivals of Russian rock, organized by Nashe Radio station. It is held annually during the first weekend of July somewhere in the environs of Moscow, Russia, since 1999 to this day with the exception of 2007. Nashestvie changed its venue several times: it was initially set in Ramenskoye, Moscow Oblast, but recently it moved northwest to Tver Oblast. The festival's name is a word play in Russian: it literally means invasion, but is also derived from the name of Nashe Radio . Media also dubbed it Russian Woodstock.

SCRIPT

Russia's Ministry of Defence organised a special event during one of the country's biggest rock music festivals outside the city of Tver on Saturday. Called Together We Are Power, the event showcased some of the military's latest vehicles and most up-to-date technology while festival attendees' were also greeted to Invasion's usual Rock n' Roll performances.

Paratroopers were also in attendance while the famed Russian Falcons performed another typically impressive acrobatic performance up in the skies.

Invasion is one the largest music festivals in the country, attracting more than 150,000 people.

Russia: Ministry Of Defense Rocking out in Russia

With the help of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the open-air rock festival Nasestvie, held in the Tver region, added something a little different to this year's party.

Nashestvie is an annual open-air rock festival, sometimes referred to as the Russian Woodstock, and has been held since 1999. This year, the event took place over the weekend of July 5-7, and with the assistance of the Russian Ministry of Defense, added the extra element of military vehicle displays, airshows and paratroopers' drills.

Russian aerobatic team Sokoli Rossii (Russian Falcons) rocked the party, wowing Russian rock-lovers with their MIG-29 and SU-27 aerial tricks. During the show they demonstrated different elements of aerial acrobatics and even fireworks. On the second day of the festival, Russian paratroopers demonstrated their skills in parachuting jumping from a military helicopter and parachuting in to join the party. There were also T-90 tanks, armoured vehicle BTR-82A, self-propelled howitzer Msta-S and airborne combat vehicles spread throughout the festival for the music lovers to take pictures with or even get inside them.
