Loaded with attractions luring locals and tourists alike, it is the heart of the city. It's centerpiece is the National Aquarium considered to be the best in the Nation if not the world.

We visited the National Aquarium in Baltimore, and had some fun checking out the fish and animals there. We also had some legendary Chap's Pit Beef along the way. Though it looked sketchy for a while, we did not get eaten by the alligators!

Join us for an exciting tour of The Baltimore National Aquarium in Maryland's Inner Harbor. Baltimore is just a short drive to Washington DC! We visited sharks, dolphins, puffins, jellyfish, a caiman, a bunch of reptiles and amphibians and a whole lot of fish! You will also get to see the moment I started having a terrible panic attack when I realized how high the escalators were. Mom got in trouble because she started going down the escalator and realized I was serious then started climbing back up lol....Love you Mom! It's such a great deal to check out the aquarium with great saving if you can deal with a long waiting time and some crowd. We had lots of fun checking out the exhibits, discovering the many under sea creatures, and more. If you are around the area during the first weekend of December, check them out :)

National Aquarium in Baltimore, one of the largest public aquariums in the United States. The aquarium, which opened in 1981 in the Inner Harbor area of Baltimore, Md., was financed largely by the city but was designated a “national” aquarium by the U.S. Congress. Of the more than 10,000 marine and freshwater animals maintained by the aquarium, many are marine mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. The decor and effect of the aquarium are impressive. The exhibits are notable for re-creating natural habitats from throughout the world. At the entrance of the five-story Main Aquarium Building on Pier 3 is the outdoor Seal Pool. The South American Rain Forest habitat is enclosed within a 66-foot- (20-metre-) high glass pyramid located at the top level of the building. Other galleries include the 335,000-gallon (1,270,000-litre) Atlantic Coral Reef tank, which provides a diver’s eye view of tropical fish, and the 225,000-gallon (850,000-litre) Open Ocean exhibit of large sharks. The Marine Mammal Pavilion on adjacent Pier 4 houses a 1,200,000-gallon (4,540,000-litre) Atlantic bottlenose dolphin habitat; oceanarium-style shows are scheduled daily.
