The entrance is opposite the National Kandawgyi Botanical Gardens / ကန်တော်ကြီး အမျိုးသား ရုက္ခဗေဒ ဥယျာဉ်, near the southern (main) entrance. There is also an amusement park just to the north: one ticket includes admission to both sites.

The Water Fountain Garden, located near the city hall, comprises of two gardens, a main pond with three fountains, 11 small ponds wіth 13 different fountains, a high clock tower, nine recreation centers and a ten feet wide buggy road and foothpaths. It also has a steel structure for its arch-way.

It was built by the British entrepreneur John Darwood but later acquired by the Sarkies brothers, who owned a number of luxury hotels in the Far East, including the Raffles Hotel in Singapore and the Eastern & Oriental Hotel in Penang. It faces the Hlaing — or Yangon — River to its south, is one of the most famous hotels in Yangon and Southeast Asia, and is managed by GCP Hospitality. The hotel is named after its address, at 92 Strand Road.

Doi Tung (ดอยตุง) is a mountain in the Thai highlands of Chiang Rai Province, Thailand.

The Doi Tung royal villa, former residence of the princess mother Srinagarindra is also high up on the hill.
Thanks to the princess mother's interest and encouragement, the hills were reforested.She was also instrumental in fighting against the opium trade, as a result the local hilltribes stopped growing poppies and began to grow other crops.
The royal villa was originally built as a summer residence for the princess mother and now houses a museum and displaying her work to improve the life quality of local tribal people.
The Mae Fah Luang Gardens are a botanical park on the slopes below the royal villa. Flowers and plants grow among rock formations.
The royal residence of HRH the late Princess Mother formerly served as her base of operations to monitor the work progress at the Doi Tung Development Project. It has since been transformed into a symbol of the Princess Mother's commitment to improving the local people's quality of life.

Video taken after the rain storm. Great view of neighboring Myanmar (Burma). There is still occasional drug running along this border since there is no natural landmark to mark the border with Burma, e.g. a river, simply the mountain ridge itself and Thai farmers literally rub shoulders with their Burmese counterparts, hence this fortified viewpoint and the numerous army checkpoints you may pass along the way. Climb the stairs and find gun emplacements, trenches, pillboxes, a small memorial and a small army camp where soldiers of the Thai army keep an eye on the Burmese whose soldiers are in camp of their own just few hundred meters down the road.
