Slovenci in prva svetovna vojna / World War I and the Slovenians
Ob 90. obletnici konca prve svetovne vojne je Oddelek za multimedije Ministrstva za obrambo v Poljčah, v sodelovanju z Muzejem novejše zgodovine Slovenije in Vojaškim muzejem Slovenske vojske pripravil dokumentarni film z naslovom Slovenci v vojni 1914-1918. Montaža Tomo Burazin, scenarij Marko Štepec in režija Božo Grlj. Film je bil posnet na različnih lokacijah in v razstavnih prostorih Muzeja novejše zgodovine Slovenije in Vojaškega muzeja v Pivki. V njem nastopajo člani predstavitvene skupine 17. pehotnega polka pod vodstvom Marka Negrieskega.
Dokumentarni film je bil oktobra 2011 tudi nagrajen z bronastim mečem na Mednarodnem festivalu vojaškega filma v Varšavi in leto pred tem še na 21. festivalu vojaškega dokumentarnega filma Vojska in ljudje v Rimu (
Commemorating the end of WWI, the Multimedia Department of the Ministry of Defence in collaboration with the National Museum of Contemporary History and the Military Museum of the Slovenian Armed Forces released the documentary World War I and the Slovenians. Editor Tomo Burazin, Screenwriter Marko Štepec and director Božo Grlj. The film was shot in various locations and in the exhibition rooms of the National Museum of Contemporary History and the Military Museum of the Slovenian Armed Forces in Pivka.
Documentary film was also awarded October 2011 with the Bronze sword at the International Military Film Festival in Warsaw and the year before that even at 21st Military Documentary Film Festival: The army and people in Rome.

Ljubljana has no world-famous attractions, which is just great: there's no need to hop from one place to another, taking photos and crossing the items on your checklist. You have all the time to stroll around and enjoy the city itself. In the summer, its center hosts a number of city sponsored events, from children workshops and public playgrounds on the streets that get closed for traffic for the occasion, to Trnfest's off-beat street performances and musical events of all genres. In autumn it shows its academic face as it fills again by students of the state's largest university to whom the city owes much of its youthful character. Cold December days are warmed by thousand of lights, the new year's decoration conceived by local artists, and by food and drinks sold from street stands on the banks of Ljubljanica river. After surviving the boring gray remaining of winter, the city erupts again with spring flowers planted on its streets and crossroads.
Ljubljana (lyoob-lyAH-nah) is a charming city full of artists, museums, and galleries. With a population of 300,000, it is one of the smallest capital cities in Europe. The Ljubljanica river flows through the center of town, past Baroque buildings and under the ramparts of the ancient castle on the hill. The new city and modern-day commercial core lies to the west of the river, while the old city and the castle are located on the east side of the river. Many bridges cross the river, the most famous of which is Tromostovje (Triple Bridge), designed by architect Jože Plečnik.
The center of Ljubljana is small enough to cover on foot. You can pick up a free city map at a tourist information center or in the train station. Navigating or finding a street is easy as streets are clearly marked. Bikes are available for rent at the Slovenian Tourist Information Center (beside the Central Market) as well as some of the hotels in the area (€1 for 2 hours, €5 for the whole day ending 7~9pm depending on season). The city's transportation authority LPP operates 26 bus lines, which are clean and run frequently (every 5-10 minutes, 15-30 minutes during the weekend and summer). Most bus routes operate 5am - 10.30pm (Sundays from 6am).
Downtown Ljubljana is full of trendy cafes (outdoor seating in the summer!) and high-quality restaurants. You can find local Slovenian food, and restaurants with ethnic food from many places around the world. Pizza in Ljubljana is of very good quality. Try a burger Slovene style with a horse burger at the Hot Horse! Cheap and good for returning from a night out.
Ljubljana has several good nightclubs (discotheques). The clubs hold special events, they will play a certain syle of music on certain nights, etc. Some will also impose a strict dress code and age limits. Ljubljana offers several hostels and student homes that function as hostels in the summer.

The river transport on the Ljubljanica and the Sava was the main means of cargo transport to and from the city until the mid-19th century, when railroads were built. Today, the Ljubljanica is used by a number of tourist ships, with wharves under the Butchers' Bridge, at Fish Square, at Court Square, at Breg, at the Poljane Embankment, and elsewhere.

Govoriti o življenju brez običajne hrane – o pranojedstvu in bretarianstvu, o življenju zgolj ob Univerzalni življenjski energiji, ki nas oblikuje in nas dela žive, se zdi precej neverjetno. Pa vendar je mogoče. To potrjujejo naša izkustva. Sledi tovrstnega bivanja ob »kozmični hrani« so še vedno prisotne v mnogih zgodbah in pravljicah naše planetarne dediščine, tudi slovanske. V novem tisočletju postaja tovrstno prehranjevanje spet vse bolj zanimivo, pa tudi dobrodošlo. Naši davni predniki in tudi redki sodobniki z vseh celin so in še vedno izpričujejo ta fenomen. Kaj pravijo duhovna izročila preteklosti različnih kultur in kaj zmore v tem trenutku o tej zmožnosti povedati sodobna znanost? O tem sta se pogovarjala dva znanstvenika: etnomuzikologinja, duhovna učiteljica ter zdravilka Mirit ter nuklearni fizik in duhovni popotnik Ivica. Oba imata kar nekaj osebnih izkušenj iz pranojedstva, Mirit pa trajno živi pranojedski stil življenja že od leta 2000.

It may seem quite incredible to speak about life without usual food – about breatharianism, about life solely on Universal life energy, which shapes us and makes us alive. However, it is nevertheless possible. Our experiences are proof of this. The vestiges of the life on 'cosmic food' are still present in numerous stories and fairy tales that are part of our planetary heritage, including the Slavic heritage. In the new millennium, this way of nourishment is becoming much more of interest and is even being welcomed. Our distant ancestors and a few contemporaries from all continents have attested to and continue to attest to this phenomenon. What do the spiritual traditions of the past of different cultures say and what is contemporary science saying these days about this ability? This was discussed by two scientists: the ethnomusicologist, spiritual teacher and healer Mirit and the nuclear physicist and spiritual traveller Ivica. Both have several personal experiences with breatharianism, and Mirit has been living the breatharian lifestyle continuously since 2000.
Razstava/Exhibition: ADRIA
Kratek pregled pretekle občasne razstave ADRIA 50 - dovoljenje imate za vzlet
v Muzeju novejše zgodovine Slovenije (2011).
Po tem, ko je Adria Airways muzeju podarila kar 402 kosa uniform kabinskega osebja, se je pričelo tesno sodelovanje in ideja o razstavi. Razstava sama je sledila zgodovinskemu razvoju slovenske letalske družbe, vključno s predstavitvijo kronologije, flote in drugih podatkov. S fotografijami iz muzejskega fototečnega arhiva smo prikazali vse faze bogate zgodovine slovenskega letenja. Obiskovalci so se lahko sprehodili mimo Adriine poslovalnice, pogledali v hangar in se usedli v pravo pilotsko kabino. Osrednjo nit razstave so predstavljale različne Adriine uniforme - od prvih, olivnozelenih ženskih kostimov s prikupnimi čepicami iz leta 1961 vse do prepoznavnih turkizno modrih zimskih plaščev iz leta 1991. Da pa je bilo vzdušje razstave res pravo, so sodelavci Adrie Airways prispevali veliko originalnih predmetov, ki so se v preteklosti, nekateri pa še danes, uporabljali pri vsakdanjem delovanju.

Biti begunec: Evropska zgodba.
Izgnanstvo in begunstvo sta že stoletja del evropske izkušnje in pripovedovanja. Zakoreninjena sta v družinskih zgodovinah in prisotna v lokalnih pripovedovanjih, vendar pa sta bila deležna le malo pozornosti na uradnih prostorih kulturnega spomina. Projekt Biti begunec: Evropska zgodba (Flucht europäisch erzählen. Being a Refugee: a European Narrative) se osredotoča na prikazovanje zgodb in zgodovine beguncev v Evropi 20. in 21. stoletja, v prostorih, ki so tradicionalno posredniki zgodovine: v muzejih.
V tem okviru smo pripravili delavnico stop-motion videa z dijaki Gimnazije Škofja Loka, ki ga vidite na razstavi v Muzeju novejše zgodovine Slovenije.
Na razstavi so predmeti, ki so nekoč pripadali beguncem, in so razstavljeni v partnerskih institucijah projekta, pripovedujejo zgodbe, ki nas opominjajo, da je begunstvo splošna evropska izkušnja – dejstvo, ki ga je potrebno izpostaviti in deliti kot del splošne evropske kulturne zavesti.
V 2018 bo razstava v Ljubljani (8. februar - 25. marec 2018), na Reki (marec), v Novem Sadu (marec), v Tuzli (april) in na Dunaju (maj – december).
Razstava je nastala v sklopu Projekta Evropa za državljane, v partnerstvu z Avstrijsko akademijo znanosti in Inštitutom za kulturne študije in gledališko zgodovino in bo na ogled do 25. marca 2018.

A “Europe for Citizens” Project
“Flucht Europäisch Erzählen. Being Refugee: A European Narrative”
Flight is usually none of or just a marginal topic in the representation of history which is offered at city museums. Through project activities, until now mostly hidden stories will be recounted as part of the “own” city history and, at the same time, of the shared European history revealing themselves as being part of a shared European narrative.
In this regard we performed a stop-motion video workshop with students from Gimnazija Škofja Loka, which you can see also at the exhibition.
The project‘s exhibition presents the stories about various refugees from different European countries originating from different time periods. The dimension being a refugee is be made visible in an exhibition by means of refugee (hi)stories based on fifteen different objects. Those objects are to be identified and contextualized as testimonials for flight and expulsion experiences, in precise through a visual intervention, offering additional information sources and life narratives. By presenting the exhibition shown at the project’s partner institutions, we are reminded that being a refugee is a common European experience, which should be made visible and shared as a common European narrative.
In 2018 the exhibition will be shown in Ljubljana (February), Rijeka (March), Novi Sad (March), Tuzla (April), and Vienna (May-December). The exhibition will also be available online in May 2018.
