4K City Walks: National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh - Virtual Walk Walking Treadmill Video is a bit different than my usual fair. I'm trying something new with this walking tour of the National Museum of Scotland. It's truly one of the most amazing museums I've been to. It's very well done and laid out and the building itself is worth the FREE ENTRY! It has exhibits in science, technology, art, history, culture, and more. My kids love it and we've been at least four times in two trips to Edinburgh. Personally, my favorite part is the atrium. It's so bright and beautiful and airy.

From Wikipedia:
Edinburgh Scottish Gaelic: Dùn Èideann Scots: Edinburgh) is the capital city of Scotland and one of its 32 council areas. Historically part of the county of Midlothian (interchangeably Edinburghshire prior to 1921), it is located in Lothian on the Firth of Forth's southern shore.
Recognized as the capital of Scotland since at least the 15th century, Edinburgh is the seat of the Scottish Government, the Scottish Parliament and the supreme courts of Scotland. The city's Palace of Holyrood house is the official residence of the monarch in Scotland. The city has long been a centre of education, particularly in the fields of medicine, Scots law, literature, philosophy, the sciences and engineering. It is the second largest financial centre in the United Kingdom (after London) and the city's historical and cultural attractions have made it the United Kingdom's second most popular tourist destination attracting 1.75 million visits from overseas in 2016.
Edinburgh is Scotland's second most populous city and the seventh most populous in the United Kingdom. The official population estimates are 488,050 (2016) for the Locality of Edinburgh (Edinburgh pre 1975 regionalization plus Currie and Balerno), 518,500 (2018) for the City of Edinburgh, and 1,339,380 (2014) for the city region. Edinburgh lies at the heart of the Edinburgh and South East Scotland city region comprising East Lothian, Edinburgh, Fife, Midlothian, Scottish Borders and West Lothian.
The city is the annual venue of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. It is home to national institutions such as the National Museum of Scotland, the National Library of Scotland and the Scottish National Gallery. The University of Edinburgh, founded in 1582 and now one of four in the city, is placed 20th in the QS World University Rankings for 2020. The city is also famous for the Edinburgh International Festival and the Fringe, the latter being the world's largest annual international arts festival. Historic sites in Edinburgh include Edinburgh Castle, the Palace of Holyrood house, the churches of St. Giles, Greyfriars and the Canongate, and the extensive Georgian New Town built in the 18th/19th centuries. Edinburgh's Old Town and New Town together are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, which has been managed by Edinburgh World Heritage since 1999.

Places to see in ( Edinburgh - UK ) National Museum of Scotland
The National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh, Scotland, was formed in 2006 with the merger of the new Museum of Scotland, with collections relating to Scottish antiquities, culture and history, and the adjacent Royal Museum (so renamed in 1995), with collections covering science and technology, natural history, and world cultures. The two connected buildings stand beside each other on Chambers Street, by the intersection with the George IV Bridge, in central Edinburgh. The National Museum of Scotland is part of National Museums Scotland. Admission is free.
The two buildings retain distinctive characters: the Museum of Scotland is housed in a modern building opened in 1998, while the former Royal Museum building was begun in 1861, and partially opened in 1866, with a Victorian Romanesque Revival facade and a grand central hall of cast iron construction that rises the full height of the building. This building underwent a major refurbishment and reopened on 29 July 2011 after a three-year, £47 million project to restore and extend the building led by Gareth Hoskins Architects along with the concurrent redesign of the exhibitions by Ralph Appelbaum Associates.
The National Museum of Scotland incorporates the collections of the former National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland, and the Royal Museum. As well as the national collections of Scottish archaeological finds and medieval objects, the museum contains artefacts from around the world, encompassing geology, archaeology, natural history, science, technology, art, and world cultures. The 16 new galleries reopened in 2011 include 8,000 objects, 80 per cent of which were not formerly on display. One of the more notable exhibits is the stuffed body of Dolly the sheep, the first successful clone of a mammal from an adult cell. Other highlights include Ancient Egyptian exhibitions, one of Elton John's extravagant suits and a large kinetic sculpture named the Millennium Clock. A Scottish invention that is a perennial favourite with school parties is The Maiden, an early form of guillotine. In 2016, the National Museum of Scotland had 1.81 million visitors over the year, making it Scotland's most popular visitor attraction during that period.

At first I show the descriptions for each object. You can use the pause to stop the video and read them (showing the artifacts starts at 1:22).
Then a quick look at the exhibits with their number and then I show them one by one and at some of them theres a zoom in for some details.
Maybe a bit shaky.

Scottish Gin Tasting at the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh
Scottish Gin Tasting event at the National Museum of Scotland. Reel Time Events provided a Scottish Gin Tasting, along with other entertainment, for a large conference event at the National Museum of Scotland. We had a variety of Scottish Gin to give delegates the chance to try something new.
In the video, you can see two local Gins: Edinburgh Gin, and Lind and Lime from The Port of Leith Distlling Co. There is also the super-smooth, quadruple-distilled Caorunn (Ka-roon) from Aviemore, in the Scottish Highlands, and the Hendricks Midsummer Solstice Gin.
All Gin was served straight up, no ice or mixers, for a 'spirit tasting'. We specially selected the finest, smoothest, and tastiest Gins, so we didn’t want to dilute, freeze, or mix them with anything. This meant the delegates could taste the full range of flavours available in each offering.
We also had a Whisky Tasting on at the same time. Watch that here:
