The HIKE To Natural Arch....................
The Springbrook National Park comprises 15,310 acres situated on the McPherson Range near Springbrook and forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage listed Gondwana Rainforests of Australia.
Allow 40 minutes for the one and a half kilometre Natural Bridge Circuit, through lush ancient Gondwana rainforest lined in buttress roots, strangler figs, epiphytic ferns and berry covered lily pillies (in Spring).
The monumental rock arch formation known as Natural Bridge is very popular with walkers and bird lovers during the day who flock to see the streaming waterfall. At night however the cave comes alive with thousands of nocturnal glow-worms and microbats, which can be witnessed on a guided spotlight tour.

Nestled behind Australia's Gold Coast along the Scenic Rim are the remnants of rainforest dating back to the time of the super-continent Gondwana.
Footage in this video was captured during April 2014. Key locations visited include (in order of appearance) Goomoolahra Falls, Purling Brook Falls, forest at Best of All lookout, Box Forest Circuit (walking track), Box Log Falls, Natural Bridge.

Natural Bridge/Arch at Springbrook National Park, Gold Coast
The Springbrook National Park is located in the Gold Coast hinterland of Queensland, Australia. The Natural Bridge (or Natural Arch) is a naturally formed rock arch over Cave Creek, a tributary of the Nerang River. It was formed from a waterfall which undercut a cave beneath the waterfall and dug a pothole on top, until the two joined and the creek flowed through the cave, leaving an arch across the front.
It's an easy and very scenic walk into Natural Bridge. Swimming is no longer permitted because the cave is home to a colony of glow worms.

After seeing so many beautiful photos of the Natural Bridge in Springwood National Park, it was time to see it in real life! And with the help of Wanda and Cosmo, I did!
Despite it being winter, the weather on the Gold Coast has been fantastic and weekends are a great time to get out and explore.

Natural Bridge, Springbrook National Park is a most unusual geological feature created over millions of years by water tumbling through the roof of a basalt cave. Natural Bridge is home to an amazing colony of glow-worms, whose lights can be seen only after sunset. Lookouts and lush rainforest also grace this part of the Gondwna Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, making it one of the most popular parks in Australia. Take the short circuit walk to the natural arch over Cave Creek, and view the unique waterfall and cave. Enjoy a picnic and relax in cool rainforest. Join a nocturnal tour to see delicate glow-worms. (Remember a torch for the walk, but turn it off once in the cave). On summer nights, see luminous fungi and fireflies. During the day, hear the calls of paradise riflebirds, green catbirds and wompoo fruit-doves.
