Red River Gorge KY 2018 Skylift
Driving through the Nada Tunnel, Natural Bridge, KY.3gp
An interesting way to enter the Red River Gorge is through the 900-foot Nada Tunnel, located along KY 77. This tunnel, open to one-lane traffic only, was built for use by a logging railroad during the early 1900's. The tunnel is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Gateway to Red River Gorge, Nada tunnel (measuring 13'x12'x900') was constructed to haul logs via narrow gauge railroad from timber operations in the Gorge. Construction began in December 1910 and was completed in September 1911. Rock and dirt were removed by dynamite, steam drills and hand tools. One man was killed during tunnel construction when he attempted to thaw frozen dynamite which exploded when he set it near a fire.
A 25-ton and a 35-ton Climax locomotive were used to haul logs through the tunnel starting in 1912. The first load of logs became jammed in the tunnel and had to be dynamited free. It was enlarged to accomodate the large logs common to the area.
The railroad carried the logs 15 miles to a mill at Clay City. At one time it was the largest sawmill in the eastern United States.
Harlan County__Kingdom Come State Park__part 3__Overlooks___Harlan County Kentucky
The song is Tennessee by Hans Zimmer
Therefore this video has not or ever will be sold for profit, The soul creation of this video & my other videos are totally nonprofit, as a biography, as a teaching tool, to bring attention and demonstrate the beauty of Harlan County.
For years sadly most of the media has betrayed us so terribly. Hardly ever showing the hard, honest working people of this county, never pointing out the gifts this area has too offer.
These videos are a personal biography through my eyes and what I see every day, the love for my family & the beauty of this county. All I ever wanted was for everyone to have a chance to see the Harlan County that we are proud of and that we love so much.
THANK YOU to Hans Zimmer & many others for allowing us this wonderful chance to make just a little bit of magic : )
Thank You so much : )
DISCLAIMER: THE MUSIC IS COPYRIGHTED TO THEIR RESPECTIVE OWNERS, NO INFRINGEMENT WAS EVER INTENDED.
I'm truly sorry, but I don't know how long this video will be allowed to be played on youtube. sadly many companies are beginning to force youtube to start blocking videos.
It's going to break my heart when they begin to block my videos of Harlan County..
Thank You to The Kingdom Come State Park
Kingdom Come State Park, with an elevation of 2,700 feet, is the crowning jewel in the crest of Pine Mountain. Named after the popular Civil War novel, The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come, by Kentucky author John Fox Jr., the park preserves 1,283 acres of unspoiled wilderness.
Some of the most extraordinary rock formations in the state are featured at this park, including Log Rock, a natural sandstone bridge, and Raven Rock, a giant rock exposure that soars 290 feet into the air at a 45-degree angle!
Black Mountain Gazebo Overlook is the first overlook visitors discover when driving from US 119. This southern view renders the city of Cumberland, the Poor Fork River valley, and the girth of Black Mountain.
Creech Overlook, at the park's northeastern extent of paved roads, unfurls the great Cumberland Plateau beneath the visitor. Because Pine Mountain is taller than the hills to its north, a crisp autumn day yields an endless ocean of brilliant fall foliage from Creech Overlook.
12 O'Clock Overlook, At over 2700 feet in elevation and is the highest point in any of the Kentucky state parks.
Bullock Overlook, elevation over 2680 feet, you can walk out on this awesome cat walk over looking beautiful views of Whitesburg.
Here is just a few of the beautiful overlooks in Kingdom Come State Park.
At first you will see the 12 O'Clock Overlook and then on to Bullock Overlook and then to the Creech Overlook. Each one having gorgeous breath taking views.
But sadly we didn't get to film the Halcomb Overlook and many others beautiful Overlooks.. there are so much to see and so little time in one day.
I hope so much you might like the video : )
God Bless You

Red River Gorge Zipline Tour ~ All 5 Zips ~ 350 ft Above Red River!
July 13, 2014. Awesome adventure lead by Zip Guides - Andrew, Nick and Rae. This video was captured using a GoPro camera mounted to my helmet (available for rent from Red River Gorge Zipline Tours). At the end of the tour I received an SD memory card with the raw footage, then used Pinnacle Studio to edit the clips together.
