Hawaii's Big Island destination overview
Unique Tours on the island of Maui
Every Hawaiian island is unique and very different from the others. Partly because of these differences, each island in Hawaii offers special and unusual activities and tours. The number and variety of these activities and tour choices can be mind-boggling. Couples, families or anyone planning a vacation in Hawaii have a lot of homework to do figuring out which activity or tour works best for their interests, capabilities, pocketbooks and needs.
Maui wins the prize for the most activities and tours on any island in Hawaii. Maui’s geography and nature’s blessings provide a marvelous variety of scenic areas to explore and experience. Activities and tours in every part of Maui enable visitors to take full advantage of the island’s natural attractions.
Maui also is the hub for inter-island touring. Maui’s Kapalua Airport has flights to Molokai to experience Father Damien’s Kalaupapa leper colony and also an air tour of Maui. Maui’s Lahaina is the place to take cross-channel trips to Lanai for snorkeling and perhaps a land tour or board a submarine to explore the ocean’s depths. The coast off Lanai boasts of some of the best snorkeling and dolphin watching in the state and also the largest continuous reef in Hawaii.
Even Humpback Whales have decided to vacation around Maui in the winter. The waters between Maui, Lanai, Molokai and Kahoolawe are relatively shallow. That creates a perfect location for Humpback Whales to calve and procreate. They visit regularly every winter.
Most people have heard about these Humpback Whales so they don’t need much publicity. For everything else unusual on or around Maui, our website and staff, located on Maui, try to make everyone’s research and vacation decisions much easier. The website includes both long and short lists of unusual things to do on and over Maui and around its shores.
For example, Maui has two large volcanoes connected by a large valley between them. The largest of the two, Mount Haleakala, rises to a height of over 10,000 feet. At the summit a huge volcanic crater, 21 miles in circumference, descends 3000 feet. Hikes into the crater are unforgettable. Most people have heard about downhill bike tours on the slopes of Haleakala. But these slopes above the town of Makawao also include a working cattle ranch. In addition to horseback riding through beautiful meadowland, the ranch provides a zip-line course. Visitors can combine a visit to Haleakala, scenic sightseeing, perhaps a hike into the crater or horseback riding and an exciting zip-line experience.
Most people have heard about the famous road to Hana and its gorgeous coastline. Less well-known are helicopter excursions that, weather permitting, combine visits to Haleakala's magnificent crater and tours of Hana, the Pools of 'Ohe'o and fabulous coastline waterfalls.
Maui’s mix of cultures and ethnicities is not unique or exceptional in Hawaii. Of course people from China, Japan, Korea, Portugal, Mexico and many other countries brought their special foods and eateries to Hawaii. Maui is fortunate to have an abundance of these eateries and food tours that visit them in Old Wailuku and Kahului.
Food tours are enjoyable for almost everyone. Hunting tours for small groups in back-country Maui are not. In these tours hunting wild boar the actual kill is handled by the hunter using a knife. Axis deer and wild goats are hunted with rifles. All of these wild animals are damaging the island’s vegetation. Hunting tours involve a fair bit of hiking and walking, some up into gorges and valleys. So hunting tours provide exercise as well as excitement. Less exciting but still challenging, visitors can shoot sporting clays that mimic the flight of game birds. The sporting clay course is located in an extinct cinder cone, which make the whole experience unique.

HAWAII: Maui Travel Guide 2019 | Travel with Me
Travel with me! Hey there, sharing this guide for things to do on vacation in super pretty, Maui. I have compiled a list of things to do, eat and sleep. Some of the things that are most memorable about my Maui vacation was the bamboo forest (Pipiwai Trail), a gorgeous banyan tree, the black sand beach at wai'anapanapa state park, the road to hana, passion fruit, fresh ponds for swimming and this list goes on!
I hope you've found this vacation guide helpful!

America The Beautiful.
One of my most memorable thoughts about Maui is its breathtaking beauty.
Gorgeous beaches of all colors, red sand, black sand, white sand and water so blue it looked like a dream against its lush, green landscape. Eating fresh passion fruit for the first time is also something I will never forget. Until that trip I had never eaten passion fruit, I had only ever had candy or drinks that tried to mimic its incredible flavor. I did a lot of hiking in Maui, so being able to stop and pick a fresh piece of passion fruit along the way was amazing. There were also so many beautiful, fresh ponds to swim in and to top that off, there were fresh awahpui plants everywhere! If you’re unfamiliar with awapui, it is at ginger plant. If you squeeze it its sap can be used as a natural, gentle, shampoo and body soap. It was an ingredient that was featured and raved about in a Paul Mitchell hair product, I believe it is still a very highly rated product of his. Anyway, it was all the rave back then, so being able to just pick an awapui flower and wash my hair and skin as I swam made me feel so at one with mother earth and you couldn’t tell me nothin! Heaven.
One of my favorite hikes, a MUST DO, was the Pipiwai Trail and getting to see a banyan tree for the first time and it was enormous! it is as tall and wide or bigger than a house. It is simply majestic and you have to see it if you have the chance. It was wild to learn that it is a ficus plant and in mainland U.S. they only grow as big as a shrub, but in Maui they grow to be so HUGE! If you keep going along this trail, for about a mile, you will end up at a dreamy bamboo forest that extends almost 2 miles! If you feel like hiking that 2 miles you will be rewarded with a jaw dropping experience with a 400ft, Waimoku Falls. So bring great hiking shoes, water, repellent and respect all posted signs (very slippery in some parts and, during rains, you could experience flash floods in others. ????Be safe and STAY ON TRAILS. Flash Floods and falling rocks can be fatal).
????It is customary to remove your shoes before entering someone’s home.
????????????????Repect all posted signs????????????

MAUI HAWAII
MAUI HAWAII
A trip around the beautiful island of Maui, volcanic landscapes, extinct volcanoes, wonderful scenary and plant life.
The island of Maui is the second-largest of the Hawaiian Islands at 727.2 square miles (1,883 km2) and is the 17th largest island in the United States. Maui is part of the State of Hawaiʻi and is the largest of Maui County's four islands, bigger than Molokaʻi, Lānaʻi, and unpopulated Kahoʻolawe. In 2010, Maui had a population of 144,444, third-highest of the Hawaiian Islands, behind that of Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Island. Kahului is the largest census-designated place (CDP) on the island with a population of 26,337 as of 2010 and is the commercial and financial hub of the island.[5] Wailuku is the seat of Maui County and is the third-largest CDP as of 2010. Other significant places include Kīhei (including Wailea and Makena in the Kihei Town CDP, which is the second-most-populated CDP in Maui); Lahaina (including Kāʻanapali and Kapalua in the Lahaina Town CDP); Makawao; Pāʻia; Kula; Haʻikū; and Hāna.
OAHU | The BEST Hawaiian island??
For years Oahu has been my favourite of the Hawaiian islands. With the impressive hikes, delicious food, friendly locals and countless activities, this is without a doubt my favourite place, not just in the Hawaiian islands, but on the planet.
Just a few of the activities on offer area featured here, activities such as;
Dolphin Excursions, the best operator on Oahu! I absolutely cannot recommend this tour enough. They are a very professional, fun group of people who respect the dolphins and press upon you the importance of being respectful in your wildlife encounter. No chasing, no diving, just an organic experience where the dolphins are free to come and go as they please.
Shark cage diving on the north shore. These guys are also excellent with how they manage your tour. No chumming of the waters, no scare tactics, just lots of information, safety briefings, and an incredible time in the ocean with these apex predators;
Open door helicopter tour with Magnum Helicopters. Doors off is truly the way to go when overflying any of your favourite spots, immersing yourself in the experience, perhaps a little chilly, but will provide the most unforgettable experience. Your pilot has so much information about the history of the island to share, and will point out all of the must see places on island, this is one of the most perfect activities to include early on in your visit to Oahu, get the lay of the land and orientate yourself in your new found paradise;
Do you have questions about events you'd like to do, or places that you see? Drop a comment and I will be happy to help!

Follow the Water: A look at Hawaii's first ocean-friendly car wash
Along with a team from the Lahainaluna High School student council and the school's environmental club, Ho'okuleana Honua Hui , we held the State of Hawai'i's first-ever ocean-friendly car wash in November 2018, at the Old Lahaina Luau's parking lot. Here we take a tour of the water's journey from the wash area to the drain, where it's being sucked up by a submersible pump, then redirected to a nearby vegetated area. This keeps the various pollutants associated with cars such as heavy metals, oil, and other hydrocarbons from entering our local waterways.

Hawaii Adventures- Maui
Filmed this all around the island of Maui, Hawaii
Song is Outro by M83
This was my first time in Hawaii, and there's just nothing else like it. I spent the better half of two weeks filming, and created a compilation of the whole experience!
Since filming is a hobby for me, I didn't have the budget for a professional camera stabilizer. However, I ended up building a DIY Fig Rig stabilizer out of PVC pipe. While it's not perfect, it made a huge difference and cost about 15 bucks.
My inspiration in making this video was devinsupertramp.
Filmed with a Canon T3i and 18-135mm IS Lens.
Shot a mix between 30 and 60fps

Best Hikes In Maui, Hawaii - Waihee Ridge, Bamboo Forest, Wailua Iki Falls - The Amateur YouTuber
BEST hikes in Maui, Hawaii - tips, advice, must-see spots.
1. Waihee Ridge Hiking Trail
This is a Moderately Hard hike. Take it from me, I have a bad knee but was able to do complete it.
It is a 5-mile round-trip trail that ascends 1,500 ft. through a lush forest of guava, ferns, and freaking nature at its finest man.
When you arrive you will pass through a cattle-proof gate and walk up about 200-ft. This will be the first test on your knees and I think the hardest part of the hike.
After about three-quarters of a mile, you'll be treated to a better view of (Maka-Maka-Olay Falls) Makamakaole Falls.
The trail goes in cycles of flat and steep areas, that ultimately lead to the end of a hill called Lani-ili. At 2,563 ft. depending on what time you went and weather conditions you may be rewarded with a clear view of the valley or chilling next to a sea of clouds.
2. Bamboo Forest Hike
If you’re into chasing waterfalls, the Bamboo Forest Hike is a must. It is located after mile marker 6 on Hana Highway.
Parking is all street parking and it gets crowded here so if you see a spot, take it.
There are several small openings through bamboo. All eventually lead down to the main trail.
A few warnings, you must be aware of before going on this adventure.
As you make your way through the bamboo you’ll have the opportunity to see 3 different waterfalls, each with pools of freshwater you can swim in. We were only brave enough to do the first two waterfalls, the third one you have to climb up a sketchy ladder that just wasn’t in the stars for us this time, but maybe next time.
3. Wailua Iki Falls
This is a 1-mile round trip and one of the best hikes on the road to Hana.
Be warned the land is leased to a private company and hiking here is considered trespassing, though it’s not strictly enforced. Use your best judgment and respect the land.
This is an easy hike and although we got hit by the rain and had to turn back I think it was one of my favorite spots.
You’ll find this hike past mile marker 45. Parking is limited so you may have to park slightly up or down the road if you want to visit this hidden gem.
Let us know if you tried any of these hikes and stay tuned we will be doing an in-depth review on Waihee Ridge Hiking Trail so make sure to subscribe, like, comment, tell your mom and dad every bit helps guys.
All The Best,
