नाभिचक्र या समय का शहर कहे जाने वाले उज्जैन शहर को मंदिरों का शहर भी कहा जाता है, क्यूंकि यहाँ आदिकाल के प्राचीन मंदिरों का निर्माण हुआ है, प्राचीन मंदिरों की श्रेणी में एक मंदिर है जिसे कहते हैं . “श्री शनि देव नव गृह मन्दिर”
ये प्राचीन मंदिर त्रिवेणी घाट पर स्थित है. जो उज्जैन शहर से लगभग ६ किलोमीटर दूर है. राजा विक्रमादित्य , जो उज्जैन नगरी मैं राजा थे. उन्होने अपने हाथों से इस मंदिर की स्थापना की थी .
विक्रमी संवत २०७२ मैं इस मंदिर का निर्माण हुआ. नव ग्रहोंके पूजन के लिए इस मंदिर का बहुत महत्व है. सर्वग्रहाधिपति , न्याय देव “ शनि देव “ के साथ यहाँ सूर्य, चन्द्र ,मंगल, बुध, गुरु, शुक्र, राहू , केतु आदि सभी दुसरे देवता भी विराजमान है, जिनकी कृपा पाने के लिए भक्तजन निरंतर पूजा अर्चना करते हैं

६ कर्नाटक में नवग्रह जैन तीर्थ एक जैन मंदिर है जिसमें जैन देवता पार्श्वनाथ की सबसे ऊंची मूर्ति, और आठ तीर्थंकरों की अन्य छोटी मूर्तियां हैं।
७ तमिलनाडु में स्थित नवग्रह मंदिर का समूह भारत में सबसे प्रसिद्ध माना जाता है, जो चोल राजवंश के युग से पाया जाता है

Ujjain is an ancient and historical city over 5000 years old. It is described as the best city in Adi Brahma Puran and it is called moksha and bhukti-mukti in Agni Purana and Garuda Puran.
There was a time when this city was the capital of a big empire and it is still a famous spiritual pilgrimage centre with the Kumbh Mela held here every 12 years.
It is one of Hinduism’s sacred cities situated on the banks of the Shipra River.
The famous poet, Kalidas, described Ujjain as ‘The town fallen from Heaven to bring Heaven to Earth’. The many temples in Ujjain give a glimpses of its glorious past.
Ujjain is home to one of the twelve Jyotirlingams at Mahakaleshwar Temple.
As well as Bade Ganeshji ka Mandir, Chintaman Ganesh Temple, Hara Siddhi Temple, Kal Bhairava Temple, Mangalnath Temple, Gopal Mandir, and the Navagraha Mandir.
Ujjain is home to many famous places important for Hindus like Siddhavat, Bhartrihari Caves, Kaliadeh Palace, Sandipani Ashram that is the ashram of Sandipani Muni who was the spiritual master (guru) of Lord Krishna and His friend Sudam and many more places.
Ujjain became the traditional capital of King Chandragupta II, also known as Vikramaditya, at whose court the nine poets known as the Navaratna (nine jewels) of Sanskrit literature inaugurated a golden age of Sanskrit literature.
In the sixth and seventh centuries, Ujjain became a major centre of mathematical and astronomical research. Famous mathematicians who worked there included: Brahmagupta, whose book Brahmasphutasiddhanta spread the use of zero, negative numbers and the positional number system to Arabia and Cambodia; Varahamihira, the first to discover many trigonometric identities; and Bhaskaracharya, or Bhaskara II, whose book Lilavati broke new ground in many areas of mathematics.
