Bastei, Germany
The Bastei is a rock formation towering 194 metres above the Elbe River in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains of Germany.
Reaching a height of 305 metres above sea level, the jagged rocks of the Bastei were formed by water erosion over one million years ago.
The first bridge, called Bastei Bridge (Basteibrücke), was built of wood over the deep clefts of the Mardertelle, linking the outer rock shelf of the Bastei with the Steinschleuder and Neurathener Felsentor rocks.

The Bastei is a rock formation towering 194 metres above the Elbe River in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains of Germany. Reaching a height of 305 metres above sea level, the jagged rocks of the Bastei were formed by water erosion over one million years ago. They are situated near Rathen, not far from Pirna southeast of the city of Dresden, and are the major landmark of the Saxon Switzerland National Park. They are also part of a climbing and hiking area that extends over the borders into the Bohemian Switzerland (Czech Republic).
The Bastei has been a tourist attraction for over 200 years. In 1824, a wooden bridge was constructed to link several rocks for the visitors. This bridge was replaced in 1851 by the present Bastei Bridge made of sandstone. The rock formations and vistas have inspired several well-known artists, among them Caspar David Friedrich (Felsenschlucht)
The spa town of Rathen is the main base for visiting the Bastei; the town can be reached from Dresden by paddle steamer on the river Elbe.( )

Sie zählt zu den meistbesuchten Touristenattraktionen der Sächsischen Schweiz. Von der Bastei fällt das schmale Felsriff über 194 m steil zur Elbe ab. Sie bietet eine weite Aussicht ins Elbtal und über das Elbsandsteingebirge. Auf der Hochfläche hinter der Bastei befindet sich ein Hotel mit Restaurant.( )

Bastei (305 m n. m.) je skalní útvar s vyhlídkovými plošinami v Saském Švýcarsku na pravém břehu Labe mezi lázeňským městečkem Rathen a městem Wehlen. Je to jedna z nejnavštěvovanějších turistických atrakcí v Saském Švýcarsku. Z bašty úzkého skalního útesu ve výšce 194 m nad hladinou řeky Labe se nabízejí široké výhledy na údolí řeky a na Labské pískovce. Na náhorní plošině za skalním útvarem je hotel s restaurací.
Skalní most Basteibrücke pochází z roku 1851, kdy nahradil původní dřevěný most z roku 1824.( )

Bastei (czyli baszta) - formacja skalna stanowiąca jedną z największych atrakcji turystycznych Parku Narodowego Saskiej Szwajcarii, w Górach Połabskich we wschodniej części Niemiec, charakteryzujących się licznymi formacjami skalnymi. W 1824 r. pobudowano drewniany most znajdujący się ok. 110 m n.p.m., na prawym brzegu Łaby, pomiędzy miejscowościami Rathen i Stadt Wehlen. Można się do niego dostać licznymi szlakami turystycznymi lub autobusem, jeżdżącym pomiędzy miejscowością Rathewalde, a hotelem w okolicy mostu. Zrodłem nazwy jest wąska skała najdalej wysunięta nad Łabę, czyli baszta, która wznosi się na wysokości 190 m nad taflą wody.( )

Burg Stolpen, Deutschland - Prison Gräfin Cosel - Touristenattraktion
Die Burg Stolpen, die in ihrer Geschichte von der Höhenburg zum Schloss umgebaut wurde und später als Festung genutzt wurde, liegt etwa 27 Kilometer östlich von Dresden, unmittelbar südlich der Stadt Stolpen im Landkreis Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge. Prominenteste Bewohnerin der Burg Stolpen war die Gräfin Cosel; auf der Burg starben außerdem zwei Bischöfe von Meißen, die die Burg zeitweise zu ihrem Herrschaftssitz machten.
