Nevytsky Castle
Nevytsky Castle (Ukrainian: Невицький замок; Hungarian: Nevickei vár) is a semi-ruined castle in Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine 12 km north of Uzhhorod. It was founded in the early 15th century.
The castle, towering over the Uzh River, was the mighty citadel of the Drugeth family which supervised its continuous modernisation over the centuries. The keep, rebuilt in its present form in the early 16th century, passed from hand to hand during the internecine strife that convulsed Hungary in the early 17th century.
In 1644, Prince Rákóczi II ruined the castle, leaving it much as its stands today. A decline in defensive importance of the site as well as the remote and inaccessible situation of the castle have preserved it from complete demolition.

Невицкий замок — замок близ села Невицкое Закарпатской области Украины, что в 12 км северо-восточнее областного центра Ужгород. Замок был построен в XIII веке на вершине холма над долиной реки Уж на месте более раннего деревянного укрепления. В 1241 году был разрушен ордами монголо-татар, но во второй половине XIII века был восстановлен. На рубеже XIII—XIV веков на месте круглого донжона была построена четырёхугольная трехъярусная башня-донжон. С развитием огнестрельного оружия замок постоянно усовершенствовался и перестраивался и окончательные свои очертания приобрел в начале XVI века. В начале XVII века, во время владения им рода Другетов, замок в результате междоусобных войн неоднократно переходил из рук в руки. В 1644 году замок захватил и разрушил трансильванский воевода Дьёрдь Ракоци. С тех пор замок не восстанавливался и дошёл до наших времен в виде руин.

Євросоюз допоможе врятувати Невицький замок. В Ужгороді розповіли про план його реставрації. Він передбачає збереження історичної пам’ятки архітектури. На це виділено понад 11 мільйонів гривень і роботи триватимуть два роки. Відновлять найбільш пошкоджені та аварійні ділянки замку - дві головні вежі.
