Dumfries House Cumnock Scotland
Dumfries House is a Palladian country house in Ayrshire, Scotland. It is located within a large estate, around 2 miles west of Cumnock. Noted for being one of the few such houses with much of its original 18th-century furniture still present, including specially commissioned Thomas Chippendale pieces, the house and estate is now owned in charitable trust by The Great Steward of Scotland's Dumfries House Trust, which maintains it as a visitor attraction and hospitality and wedding venue. Both the house and the gardens are listed as significant aspects of Scottish heritage.
The estate and an earlier house was originally called Lefnoreis or Lochnorris, owned by a branch of the Craufurds of Loudoun. The present house was built in the 1750s for William Dalrymple, 5th Earl of Dumfries, by John Adam and Robert Adam. Having been inherited by the 2nd Marquess of Bute in 1814, it remained in his family until 2007 when the 7th Marquess sold it to the nation for £45 million due to the cost of upkeep.
Due to its significance and the risk of the furniture collection being distributed and auctioned, after three years of uncertainty, in 2007 the estate and its entire contents was purchased for £45m for the country by a consortium headed by Charles, Prince of Wales, including a £20m loan from the Prince's charitable trust. The intention was to renovate the estate to become self-sufficient, both to preserve it and regenerate the local economy. As well as donors and sponsorship, funding is also intended to come from constructing the nearby housing development of Knockroon, a planned community along the lines of the Prince's similar venture, Poundbury in Dorset.
The house duly reopened in 2008, equipped for public tours. Since then various other parts of the estate have been reopened for various uses, to provide both education and employment, as well as funding the trust's running costs.
Unfortunately there is not photography allowed inside the property.
This was the one place I wanted to see more than any other. It was a dream of mine to visit this house after watching the documentary.

Trio Naples Florida is a luxury modern urban high-rise near downtown Naples with an exclusive private rooftop sky club.

The nine-story building, simply called Trio, will have 12 extended-stay hotel rooms and 24 residential condominiums overtop shops and restaurants.
The sleek concrete and glass tower will be built at the corner of U.S. 41 and Davis Boulevard, just outside the Naples city limits, in the Gateway Triangle, long targeted for redevelopment. The name of the project comes from the pizza-slice shape of its land.
The developer, fittingly going by the name Trio Southern Holdings LLC, released the condominiums for sale in late July 2016, selling one of the penthouses almost immediately. Prices range from $850,000 for a one-bedroom with a den to $2.69 million for a larger three-bedroom penthouse.
The tower will stand out as the tallest in the area, stretching skyward to 112 feet. If it was in the city it couldn’t be taller than 42 feet.
One of the tower’s more unique features will be its sky club, modeled after rooftop lounges in larger, more cosmopolitan cities such as Miami and New York.
The developer is confident the sky club, named Club IX (for the ninth floor), will thrive. Spanning 8,000 square feet, the nautical-themed club will include three mineral pools, poolside cabanas, water fountains and custom lighting to help set the mood.
For residents, club membership will be mandatory, and it will be free for the first year. Hotel guests will pay a resort fee that will include use of the club. Pricing details are still being ironed out.
Construction is expected to start in October 2016, with a 14-month build-out. The project could be completed by December 2017.
The extended-stay hotel rooms, ranging from 700 to 1,200 square feet and including full kitchens, will be on the second floor of the tower. Guests will be able to stay for up to 30 days.
The condominiums, ranging from 1,600 to 2,600 square feet, will be on the remaining floors, from the third to the eighth. There will be four residences on each floor with luxury finishes that will include marble in the bathrooms, white oak flooring and quartz countertops.
With nothing taller in front of Trio, which will face west, it will offer unobstructed views of Naples Bay, the Gulf of Mexico, Gulfshore Boulevard and downtown Naples.
The project will also have a resort-style pool and spa in an outdoor plaza. Residents will have private parking garages and elevators.
Other amenities will include a valet, Wi-Fi, a business center and state-of-the-art fitness studios. There will be “custom scenting” in the lobby, giving residents and visitors a unique sensory experience.
The project will replace a one-story building that for many years was home to Union Motors, an auto body and rim shop, which has relocated.
Tony Fortino, the developer, with offices in Naples and New Jersey, has 25 years of construction and development experience. While he’s built other commercial and residential projects, Trio would be his largest — and his first in Collier County.

Ayr
Ayr is a town and former Royal Burgh sitting along the west coast of Ayrshire in Scotland. It forms a part of the South Ayrshire Local Authority area, serving as the area's administrative centre. Historically, Ayr was the county town of Ayrshire until 1975. Ayr is currently the most populated settlement in Ayrshire and the South of Scotland. It is the 13th most populous locality in Scotland.
The town was established in 1205 and soon developed as the central market and port along the west coast of Scotland, becoming a prominent trading port to Ireland. Oliver Cromwell also established a Citadel along the south of the river Ayr, the ramparts of which remain visible to this day. As the birthplace of famous Scottish poet Robert Burns, the suburb of Alloway, in the south of the town, houses his former home and the Robert Burns Experience. Across the Victorian era coal and iron remained the central export of the town, with fishing and shipping also forming a significant sect of the local economy. Ayr later developed as a holiday resort, aspects of which remain the case today with the continued presence of a Butlins holiday park to the south of the town. The Gaiety Theatre, Ayr ran various shows across the late 20th century, attracting performers from across the United Kingdom, and despite its decline throughout the 2000s, it remains in operation today.
