Boston Beer Company's New England IPA - Find Your Craft Beer Review, Episode 142
So I stumbled across the New England IPA from Sam Adams the other day, and I just had to give it a try. The 'Haze Craze' is in full force, and it seems nearly every brewery is trying their hand at the New England / North Eastern Style IPA. Boston Beer Company is no different with their release of Sam Adams New England IPA.
I was somewhat skeptical at first, but I had to give it a try as it is one of the few NEIPAs that you can find in your local grocery store--at least where I am here in the southern United States.
All in all, it was not a bad beer. The brew looked and smelled just like a NEIPA, boasting a hazy golden color along with citrus and tropical hop aromas. Those aromas manifested in the same flavors, coupled with a slight grassiness post-taste. I can't say that the degree of hop flavor was as intense as one might get from an NEIPA at a local craft brewery, but for a NEIPA that I can pick up in the grocery store, it was definitely not bad.
Cheers to Sam Adams on a solid take on the NEIPA!

RVing New England: Boston Harbor and the Sam Adams Brewery
We wrapped up a great RV trip to New England by going back into Boston. We took the free Sam Adams Brewery Tour, ate at the Ginger Man restaurant, and rode a Harbor Cruise to see the U.S.S. Cassin Young and the U.S.S. Constitution, a.k.a “Old Ironsides.” Despite some rough weather, the whole trip was a really great time.

1916 BOSTON BRIDGE TRAGEDY. RONS BEERS & TOOLS,, New England ROADS #110
Ever since I heard about this 1916 bridge tragedy in Boston Mass.. Ive gone over this bridge so many times, College, working in Boston twice, one time driving over this bridge every work day , not knowing about the tragedy, but wondering what were those tracks jutting from under bridge. built in 1899,the tragedy killed 47 folks coming home from work at 5:30PM that Nov, 1916. Somehow the bridge was open, though the flimsy gate was closed ,. What ever failure the trolley went thru the gates and the brakes on the trolley just skidded off the bridge. Well my Wife and I went there and seen the bridge , and all the original building still standing on Summer street that wittnessed that tragedy. I videoed and documented the bridge etc.
The terrible tragedy of the 1916 Summer Street Bridge Disaster was at 5:13 pm, 7th November 1916, when streetcar #393 full of passengers majority coming home from work ,drove off an open drawbridge that was fully slid open, into Bostons Fort Point Channel, heading to downtown Boston Mass. Motorman Gerald Walsh was driving the electric trolley and the conductor was George McKeon, . As it got close to the Summer Street Bridge, it was full with around 60 passengers on board.
The drawbridge was open to allow a ship to pass, the sliding away from the roadway bridge. Walsh failed to obey a small stop sign located at Melcher Street, though he slowed for a boarding passenger. Walsh noticed the open bridge too late to stop; he locked wheels and the electric trolley smashed through a closed metal chain link fencing gates and fell into the cold channel. Loaded with passengers, it sank quickly into the cold waters of the channel, some 35' feet below. with 18' water depth.
Hugh Nawn company sent divers to begin work at 9 pm. bodies were removed from the wreckage from 10PM to 12:40AM. Forty-five bodies were discovered in the channel and the sunken streetcar. The Boston newspapers, trying to be first, with the story, reported body counts much higher than actual number. The electric trolley was pulled up from the channel around 3:30 AM by the lighter Admiral crane.
Forty-five bodies were pulled from the sunken streetcar, the forty-sixth victim washed washed ashore May 1917.

The Original CHEERS Bar BOSTON in Massachusetts ????????
In the quaint neighborhood of Beacon Hill and adjacent to the Boston Commons Park is the pub that inspired the Cheers series. It is worth the visit, either to have a beer at the bar or sit down to eat at a table. Usually full, it is relatively easy to find a place. Place to take a decent hamburger, nachos, salads or unpretentious food. It has a store to take a memory of the series.
