New Orleans in Louisiana is a great city with lots of vibrant culture & cool restaurants! Follow us in our vlog to four culinary hotspots in this Southern US city!
Our first stop is at a Cajun restaurant called Market Café located right on Decatur St in the French Market District. There we have a delicious local breakfast – a Crawfish Omelet! For more information about this restaurant visit:
Next we are headed to the French Market, which is a must-see if you visit New Orleans! The French Market is a bustling open-air flea market with locally made food, crafts and artists who are proud to share their stories with you! There we have some delicious fruity smoothies and we chat with the local artists. Visit the French Market website right here: frenchmarket.org
Follow us for dinner at Mother’s Restaurant, a cafeteria style Creole eatery! This NOLA favorite has been delighting visitors and locals alike since the 1930s, serving up expertly dressed sandwiches, a full breakfast menu, and other regional favorites. Visit mothersrestaurant.net for more information on this New Orleans restaurant.
We start our next day at the iconic Café du Monde! There we enjoy beignets and chicory café! Café du Monde is actually topping the list of the most-Instagrammed bakeries and cafés of the year and it is open 24 hours a day! Café du Monde’s website: cafedumonde.com
Please comment, like and subscribe for more videos! Also, New Orleans Part 2 will be uploaded soon which will take us to a very unique pepper place in the heart of the city!

Here’s where I ate today:

Family Travel with Colleen Kelly - New Orleans, Louisiana
Family travel expert, Colleen Kelly, shows us how to let the good times roll in New Orleans, Louisiana. Accompanied by local parents, Colleen uncovers the city’s gems starting in the heart of the French Quarter to sample Beignets at the iconic French Market. We then take a tour of Mardi Gras World where artists design more than 80% of all parade floats; Colleen meets with a float designer to get the inside scoop on how these decorative floats are created. We then get a chance to make our own creations during a Bug Cooking Class at the Insectarium, the largest museum in the United States dedicated to bugs!
It’s always important to learn when you travel to new places with your family. The National World War II Museum is a treasure chest of information for visitors of all ages. Colleen meets a multigenerational family with personal ties to the war and learns how parents can pass down family history while seeing the different exhibits. But our trip to New Orleans wouldn’t be complete without a swamp tour in the bayou, followed by heart racing laps around the tracks at NOLA Motorsports for Kart racing. To round out our family vacation we learn the difference between cajun and creole cuisine and we dance the night away at Mulate’s Family Restaurant.
