NIAGARA FALLS #1 -NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK-TRAVEL MAN DAN
#TravelManDan #Niagarafalls #wonderoftheworld #usa #justakidfromkenmore
In this episode of Travel Man Dan I have traveled one of the natural wonders of the world, Niagara Falls!
This is a two part series and in this episode I show and explore the American side of the falls, which is located in Niagara Falls, New York.
This episode was so much fun to film! Niagara Falls has always been close to me, it has always been one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Because I grew up about 15 miles away from the falls in Kenmore, I have visited there many many times, and every time I visit I am in awe at the beauty and power of this amazing waterfall.
In this episode you'll see how to start your adventure on the American side just at the entrance of the Niagara Falls state park. You'll see me slowly walk up on to the sound of the roaring rapids charging down from the last part of the Niagara river and see the epic water falling off the ridge and crashing down into the rocks below!!!!
Also in this video you will see the surrounding area of Niagara Falls, and how beautiful it looks with a winter snow on the ground and ice dangling from the railings. Winter although it can be very cold out here is also my favorite time to visit the falls because of how scenic it is. In this video you will see the Canadian side of the falls and the city skyline that is just across the bridge.
Oh yeah and another cool part of this video is you will see me navigate you through the park, along the falls and across the Rainbow bridge into Canada! Yes that is right you can walk across the bridge into Canada and see the Horseshoe falls-Although that episode will come out next week on April 10th!
So I hope you enjoy this part 1 video of Niagara Falls-The American Side! Go ahead and drop me a comment and let me know what you think!

New York Travel Destination & Attractions | Visit Niagara Falls Cayuga Park Show
Niagara Falls Cayuga: Gahnawehtaˀ or Tgahnawęhtaˀ[1]) is the collective name for three waterfalls that straddle the international border between Canada and the United States; more specifically, between the province of Ontario and the state of New York. They form the southern end of the Niagara Gorge.
From largest to smallest, the three waterfalls are the Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls. The Horseshoe Falls lie mostly on the Canadian side and the American Falls entirely on the American side, separated by Goat Island. The smaller Bridal Veil Falls are also located on the American side, separated from the other waterfalls by Luna Island. The international boundary line was originally drawn through Horseshoe Falls in 1819, but the boundary has long been in dispute due to natural erosion and construction.[2]
Located on the Niagara River, which drains Lake Erie into Lake Ontario, the combined falls form the highest flow rate of any waterfall in the world, with a vertical drop of more than 165 feet (50 m). Horseshoe Falls is the most powerful waterfall in North America, as measured by vertical height and also by flow rate.[3] The falls are located 17 miles (27 km) north-northwest of Buffalo, New York and 75 miles (121 km) south-southeast of Toronto, between the twin cities of Niagara Falls, Ontario, and Niagara Falls, New York.
Niagara Falls were formed when glaciers receded at the end of the Wisconsin glaciation (the last ice age), and water from the newly formed Great Lakes carved a path through the Niagara Escarpment en route to the Atlantic Ocean. While not exceptionally high, the Niagara Falls are very wide. More than six million cubic feet (168,000 m3) of water falls over the crest line every minute in high flow,[4] and almost four million cubic feet (110,000 m3) on average,More Info

USA - Niagara Falls - Rainbow Bridge - Canada
Niagara Falls one of the largest water fall in the world, Niagara Falls is a group of three waterfalls at the southern end of Niagara Gorge, between the Canadian province of Ontario and the US state of New York.
The Maid of the Mist is a boat tour of Niagara Falls, starting and ending on the American side, crossing briefly into Ontario during a portion of the trip.
The original Maid of the Mist was built at a landing near Niagara Falls on the American side of the border.[1] The boat was christened in 1846 as a border-crossing ferry;[2] its first trip was on September 18, 1846.[3] The two-stage barge-like steamer was designed primarily as a link for a proposed ferry service between New York City and Toronto. It was a 72-foot-long side-wheeler with an 18-foot beam which was powered by steam produced from a wood- and coal-fired boiler. It could carry up to 100 passengers.
Rainbow Bridge
Here you can see arched shaped bridge that’s called Rainbow Bridge.. it’s one of the border crossing bridge between USA and Canada.
Before entering to this bridge you have to go through US immigration procedures and when you arrive in Canada the same procedures in the Canadian border

Niagara Falls: Best Places to Visit in New York State.
What You Need to Know:
1. Pick a side
You can view the falls from either the Ontario or the New York side. Most visitors prefer the Canadian side, which also has a nicer selection of restaurants and hotels.
2. Exchange currency
Canada's official currency is the Canadian dollar, but U.S. dollars, as well as major credit cards, will be accepted on the either side. On the other hand, exchanging money before crossing into Canada and taking advantage of the exchange rate isn't a bad idea, depending on the fluctuating currencies.
3. Consider an activities pass
There are multiple passes that grant discounted admission to several top attractions, including the Journey Behind the Falls, Cave of the Winds and Maid of the Mist, for one price. Research your options to decide which is best for your itinerary.

Maid of the Mist Boat Ride! - Niagara Falls State Park - Niagara Falls, New York
The Discovery Pass available for purchase at Niagara Falls State Park in Niagara Falls, New York included the Maid of the Mist Boat Ride! We put on our blue ponchos and headed onto the boat. The ride takes about 20 minutes and takes you to the base of Horseshoe Falls. There are two decks. The top deck has no cover, and will definitely get more wet and windy. The bottom deck is more protected and has seating available. Both featured incredible views of the falls. The ponchos are well made and do their job protecting you from the elements, although I would recommend you wear shoes you don't mind having get a bit wet. Boats run continuously every few minutes from the dock. No prior reservations are needed, but tickets are first come, first serve. We grabbed tickets early in the morning and came back later to ride the boat. This ended up being the kids favorite experience in Niagara Falls! Don't miss it!

Part-Frozen Niagara Falls Wows Visitors
❄️❄️❄️A winter storm, that blanketed the Midwest in snow, ice and frigid temperatures, then headed to the northeast, where parts of Niagara Falls froze Tuesday, Jan. 22.
The Weather Service issued winter storm warnings or advisories for a swath of the eastern United States, said meteorologist Rich Otto of the U.S. Weather Prediction Center.
The storm system, moving from west to east and strengthened by arctic air from Canada, hit many parts of the Midwest on Friday and eastern U.S. states over the weekend, according to the National Weather Service. But this did not stop visitors from enjoying the sights of the now-frozen Niagara Falls. (Reuters)
