Oslo - Norwegian Culture at Norsk Folkemuseum - Norway
Our Norwegian Culture @ Norsk Folkemuseum - Norway Video gives you a look at the Norwegian Culture in Norsk Folkemuseum - Norway. But be warned! It has been said that this video enchantes you to want to visit this Museum of Norwegian Culture ;). Nowhere else in the world can you find more of Norway + Norwegian Culture & History jam packed into such a small area. Here it is almost like stepping into a 140da time and space machine. Transporting you around Norway and in many cases back in time. Norway actually had the first open air museum in the world. Walking through this Norwegian Heritage and Cultural Landscape with Buildings and artifacts moved here from all over Norway as well as Oslo. At the Norwegian Folk Museum in Oslo Norway You really get a sense of what life was like living there - Way back in the day - In rural parts of Norway. Here you can take Horse & Carriage rides and see what Norway must have been like. the Norwegian Folk Museum Oslo even offers extreme Make Overs, were you get dressed up in 18th Century Clothing. You travel through Norway and back in time. Simply Amazing. Let me say that again - Amazing. Norsk Folkemuseum - Norway, or Norwegian Museum of Cutlural History as the English name goes (also goes by the name Norwegian or Norway Folk Museum on the english tongue), was founded by the librarian Hans Aall in Oslo Norway - 1894. Norsk Folkemuseum was the first Open Air Museum in the world.
The Norwegian Folk Museum is absolutely one of the main Oslo & Norway Attractions. & Inside Norsk Folkemuseum - Oslo Norway (Direct translation Norwegian Folk Museum) the absolute main attractions would be the Open Air Museum and Stave Church brought there to Oslo Norway - from Gol - Norway, not to forget The Old Town. Visiting Norway & Oslo in the Summer you really should make a trip to Bygdøy and visit Norsk FolkeMuseum - It is definately worth the Trip. Incredible that so much of Norway is gathered in one place. Of course you do not get all of the Norway Nature in there like the Norway fjords, and all the Norway Cities but if you do not have the time for traveling around Norway, i would say that the Norway Folk Museum is almost like a mini Norway in a Nutshell trip.
This Travel Video of Norwegian Culture @ Norsk FolkeMuseum - Norway - or the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History situated in Oslo Norway (also called Norwegian or Norway Folk Museum by english speaking folk, like mentioned earlier) by Tourist Channels is part of a series of Travel Videos showing Things To Do In Oslo Norway. (and i think we have established that Checking out Norwegian Culture @ Norsk FolkeMuseum in Norway most definately is one of them) Tourist Channels Oslo Norway travel videos holds a broadcasting quality, and are infact broadcasted to Hotel TV's all around the capitol of Norway - Oslo. This is for Tourists who Travel To Oslo Norway to find Things To Do In Oslo Norway - easily available. HOLMENKOLLEN SKI JUMP (OSLO, NORWAY)
The ski museum in #Holmenkollen, located underneath the famous ski jump, is the oldest of its kind in the world.
The museum presents more than 4,000 years of skiing history, Norwegian polar exploration artifacts and an exhibition on snowboarding and modern skiing. The observation deck on top of the jump tower offers panoramic views of #Oslo. The best view in the city? Open 365 days a year! -
We also went to the Transport Museum but it was already closed when we reached the place so we decided to travel back to the Museums Island to check the Holocaust Museum instead.
We hope you enjoy the vlog today!

Håvard Vikhagen - Norwegian Painter
Håvard Vikhagen (born June 8, 1952) is a Norwegian painter, lives and works in Oslo.
Håvard Vikhagen is one of Norways leading artists and is considered one of our finest living artists. He is primarily a painter, with a strong sense of belonging to what is called Neo Expressionism. The images are often poetic landscape from the west country or people in landscape, with clear ties to Edvard Munch, Ludvig Karsten and Frans Wide Berg. The images to Vikhagen partially abstract focusing on fabrics and colors that make the painting live and move the audience. The paintings stand in stark contrast to the late modern abstraction and the more postmodern and conceptual and minimalist painters. Vikhagen uses the whole spectrum of colors in his paintings, and was described by many as a coloristic unikum.
He received his education from the State-crafts Art and Design and the National Art Academy, and was partly festival exhibitor in Bergen in 1996, has held solo exhibitions including House of Artists, Gallery K, Ålesund Art Association, Astrup Fearnley, Artists' Association, Hennie Onstad Art Centre and Gallery Christian Dam Vikhagen purchased by all of the country's most important museums. In 1996 he was Festival Exhibitor in Bergen.

Oslo Reptilpark 2012: Boa constrictor
In December 2012, the biannual meeting of the Norwegian Herpetological Association took place at the Reptile Park here in Oslo. It's so cool to be there after opening hours. :-) I was of course at the meeting - in fact I did a little presentation of the Galápagos Islands, showing photos from my trip there in the spring - and of course seized the opportunity of getting some video of the many interesting animals the Park keeps. This video shows the boa constrictor. A handsome specimen, but not very active just then. :-)
The Park is within easy walking distance of downtown Oslo and is well worth a visit if you ever get the chance.

Blaafarveværket - The Beauty Of Norway
Vlog034.
On our vacation Elna wanted to visit Blaafarveværket. We did not go to the mines but got some beautiful shots of the museum part of it all. We post these videos here so that you all can see how beautiful Norways is and that it is important to take care of our history.
One hour from Oslo you find the Royal Modum Blaafarveværk, a museum measuring eight kilometres in length with a mix of art, culture and outdoor activities.
Blaafarveværket was established in 1773 to extract cobalt from the mines at Modum. The cobalt was then used to make the blue dye for the world's porcelain and glass industries.

HOUSE TOUR AND TIME TRAVEL IN NORWAY
It was raining yesterday when we got out of the place where we were staying so we decided to visit museums instead. The first one we went to was an open-air museum and we're glad the weather cleared up a bit as soon as we got off the bus.
Norsk #Folkemuseum is located at Bygdøy in Oslo and has an Open-Air Museum with 160 historic buildings. A main attraction is Gol Stave Church from around 1200. The museum focuses on the time period from 1500 until present time, and in-door exhibits feature Norwegian folk costumes, folk art, church art and Sami culture. Temporary exhibits, audience programs and activities for children all year. -
